The Program The Cellar Maintenance concentration will prepare students for successful entry into this career field. Students will gain knowledge and skills needed to operate, control, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and other equipment, such as: pumps, motors, valves, gates, heaters, chillers, and fans -- used in cleaning systems, conveying systems, wine/ food/beverage production machinery, and packaging equipment; read blueprints or technical diagrams; repair or replace wiring, equipment, and instruments safely to NEC standards using hand and power tools and a variety of testing devices.
Median entry-level wage approximately $50,000 annually • Wine Cellar or Food/Beverage Maintenance Mechanic • Cellar Master • Facility Maintenance Manager
WWCC Degree Options AAAS degree in Energy Systems Technology (EST) with concentration in Cellar Maintenance. A Certificate is available after successful completion of first three quarters of the EST degree. Completion of additional EST concentrations is an option.
Career Opportunities Increased automation, including the use of many computer-controlled machines in factories and processing plants, will raise demand for maintenance workers in order to keep mechanical and electrical systems functioning properly.
