An easy grid system for drawing simple Celtic knots, found in early Irish and English manuscripts. Taught by Anne Merydith. All supplies provided. At the Ladies’ Club 10:00-noon. Bodhrán (Irish frame drum) for the Novice Aoife Clancy, from Ireland, designed this workshop for those who have never played a bodhrán . Participants will receive a handout on the different types of beats, such as reel and jig. Bring a bodhran and tipper. 11:00-noon. Accompanying Traditional Tunes on the Guitar in DADGAD Learn to accompany traditional fiddle music on the guitar in DADGAD tuning. Covers using a pick to create rhythms of traditional dance tunes (jigs, reels) and harmonic language in Irish and Quebecois music, including common chord substitutions – and hearing the chord changes implied in a typical tune. Taught by Dan Compton, from 1-2:00.
