JOB TITLE: Manager, Business Development and Events Description: The Manager of Business Development and Events is responsible with working as the liaison between the CFSC and Lake County, area venues and hotel partners on subjects pertaining to sports events, sports related business opportunities and other events, meetings and like programs related to growing sports tourism. Job Role:  Maintain a constant working relationship with local government partners and other relevant community organizations (i.e., CVB, chambers of commerce, venues, school, etc.) regarding sports related events and opportunities.  Develop from concept to fruition, sports related business and event opportunities for assigned region  Assist in business development, bid development and presentations  Ensure all contractual obligations are adhered to and documented between event partners, including but not limited to venues, external partners, hotels, catering, vendors, licensees and transportation.  Accountable to partner with marketing department to plan and execute event marketing plan which includes ensuring relevant event information is distributed to all channels, call to action is clear for all products and services  Accountable in developing and managing event budgets  Monitor and prepare event pace reports that includes team/athlete registration, hotel and other product and services booking pace  Develop an event checklist and continue to update checklist through duration of event.  Create an event rundown report including key contacts , weekly and daily timeline of events  Manage the day to day operations of event including implementing the policies and rules of the tournament.  Complete a post event summary report including an executive summary, business summary, and a continuous improvement model of team, guest and business  Track and manage impact figures for Lake County events and maintain monthly charts and/or reports including values (base drivers), room nights, and economic impacts.  Perform administrative tasks including preparation for meetings, including creating agendas, securing hospitality and completing post meeting recaps  Provide key support to overall events team  Other responsibilities as assigned by executive staff  Reports to Senior Vice President, New Business & Vice President, Events Desired Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience  Minimum 3 years’ experience in Sports Events or related industry  Proven experience with multi-tasking and coordinating multiple projects at a time  Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail  Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills as well as continuous improvement process skills  Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, ability to work effectively with all levels of associates and clients  Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines  Experience in budget development and ability to understand event budgets  Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint  Ability to travel and participate in evening and weekend activities  Ability to work extended hours (including nights, weekends and holidays) Contact: Submit a cover letter and resume to Central Florida Sports Commission Jennifer Lastik, Vice President of Events [email protected]
