THE GANDHIGRAM RURAL UNIVERSITY , GANDHIGRAM CERTIFICATE COURSE IN DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY REGUALTIONS I ELIGIBILITY: 1. For admission: A pass in the 10th. Examination / NIOS Secondary or other equivalent examination recognized by the Government. 2. For the Certificate: The candidate shall have subsequently undergone the prescribed course of study in the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension of this university. II. DURATION The course is for a period of one academic year. III. COURSE OF STUDY & FEES Candidates shall be permitted to do Certificate course concurrently with their UG/PG degree programme. The classes may be conducted either during week days in the regular working hours or after class hours or during weekly holidays. Course fee (other than examination fee): Rs.2000/- for Non students, Rs.1500/- for Staff / students of GRI (Including NIOS). Total enrollment is 20+5. This is totally self supported programme IV.SCHEME OF EXAMINATION Paper I: Basics of Photography Paper II : Theory and Practice of Photoshop Paper III: Creative designing techniques V. DISTRIBUTION OF TEACHING HOURS hours.

There shall be a total number of 120 actual contact hours. Each paper shall have 40

VI. EXAMINATIONS. There shall be examination at the end of the course i.e.: in April/May. A candidate who does not pass the examination in any subject(s) shall be appearing in such subject(s) in the subsequent examination. All candidates shall be required to register for the examination at the first appearance. Candidate can write the examination in Tamil/English

Internal 50 marks (Conducting test and practical) and



External 50 marks (Exclusive theory)

VII.

PASSING MINIMUM A candidate shall be declared to have passed in each paper if he /she secures not less than 40% both in internal and external. He/ She shall be declared to have passed the whole examination and qualified for the Certificate if he/she passes all the papers. VIII.

CLASSIFICATION OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES Those who secure 60% and above the maximum marks shall be declared to have

passed in I Class those who secure 50% and above but below 60% shall be declared to have passed in the II Class and those who secure between 40% and 49% will be placed in the III Class. IX.

AWARD OF CERTIFICATE A candidate shall be eligible for the award of the Certificate if he/she has passed all the examinations prescribed thereof. X.

REVISION OF REGULATIONS AND CURRICULUM

The University may from time to time revise, amend and change the regulations and the curriculum if found necessary. RELAVANCE In present days a lot of educated unemployed individuals are seeking for suitable courses leading to self employment, this effective short certificate in digital Photoshop, if offered by the university will help many enthusiastic youngsters to get self employment. This is an opportunity for the regular students to have it is add on course. This professional course has been planned for a short duration at a reasonably low cost with exposure to practical in the field of Photoshop applications. There is a very good demand in the society through out the country. Many youngsters are the look out for scientific and creative training in this field. This will attract a large number of enthusiastic youngsters and unemployment problems can be considerably reduced through self employment.
