[email protected] (S.S.Z); Abstract Erbium nanoparticles doped zinc borotellurite glasses were fabricated by using meltquenching method. The structural properties of the glass system were determined by using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) method. The optical properties of the glass system were found by using UV-Vis absorption. The amorphous nature of the glass system was confirmed by using X-ray Diffraction (XRD) method. The formation of TeO3 and BO3 units were revealed by FTIR analysis. The extinction coefficient, k decreases with an increase in wavelength. The bonding parameter is in negative sign which indicates that the glass sample is ionic in nature. Keywords: Optical materials; X-Ray Diffraction Method; Tellurite glass; Refractive Index;
