Welcome to the 3rd Annual Avondale School District SchoolAge Child Care Conference. We anticipate that this conference will be educational, motivating and valuable in your child care program. Our goal is that every participant will walk away with a new set of tools to implement in their everyday interactions with the children at their child care center.

Phil Downs has over 13 years experience working with students in a variety of settings including schools, camps, and churches. He has a B.A. in Youth Ministry from Spring Arbor University. He loves to play and believes that games have the ability to teach a host of skills such as cooperation and conflict resolution. He resides with his family in St Marys, OH where he is the Director of Youth and Family Ministries at Wayne Street United Methodist Church.

Lisa Freeman is a motivational speaker from Owosso, Michigan. She is an abuse/bully advocate and prevention expert, the CEO of Abuse Bites, and the Healing Projects Specialist with the Bully Police USA. Her entire family, even their dogs, have ben bullied or abused in some form. They all healed and now take that healing to others.

Tricia L. Schuster , LMSW– Care House of Oakland County has worked in social work for over 22 years, with the focus on working with children and adults coping with the effects of sexual and physical abuse /assault. Ms. Schuster is a Forensic Interviewer, Therapist, and a consultant. Ms. Schuster has provided trainings to parents, teachers, therapists, and law enforcement on trauma, and the effects of trauma, on both children and adults.
