CHP 550 Description
CHP 550 is an anionic fine dispersed aqueous dispersion of acrylic copolymer for low VOC applications. CHP 550 is APEO free.
Application
CHP 550 is an excellent binder for low VOC high gloss applications. The low film formation temperature in combination with a hard polymer film makes CHP 550 very suitable for self film forming applications with good blocking resistance for both exterior and interior use. The adhesion to old alkyd paint is excellent. Solids content, % 48 ± 1

CHP 550 should be kept in the original containers or in stainless steel, aluminium or plastic tanks. Ordinary steel tanks with a corrosion -proof lining can also be used. The containers should be kept closed to prevent evaporation of the water and the formation of a skin on the surface. The product should not be exposed to frost or to temperatures exceeding 40°C. Under normal conditions, the product can be stored for twelve months with no significant loss of its properties, but it cannot be guaranteed for a longer time. For safety issues, please refer to the material safety data sheet.

Features of CHP 550 CHP 550 gives a polymer having a low glass transition temperature but a relatively hard polymer surface. This means that the anti-blocking properties of CHP 550 are excellent. By blending CHP 550 with CHP 555 even better anti-blocking properties can be achieved, see the picture below.
Applications of CHP 550 CHP 550 has a high gloss potential and is easily formulated • in low VOC trade and industrial paints • in both interior and exterior applications • in gloss, semi-gloss and satin applications
