Circular for the Parmenides-IGPP Workshop
Matter, Life, Mind – Common Foundational Problems Munich-Pullach, Germany, June 8th - 10th, 2011 Dear Colleagues and Friends, the week of our workshop is approaching and we are really looking forward to seeing you in Pullach. This circular contains some information about the schedule and some organisational issues. Hotel: All participants (except Albrecht von M¨ uller) will stay at the Waldgasthof Buchenhain (www.hotelbuchenhain.de/), Tel. +49-89-7448840, in Baierbrunn. You reach the hotel with the S-Bahn S 7, the same S-Bahn which also leads to Pullach. Coming from Munich, Buchenhain is two stations after Pullach. When you exit the train, the Hotel is on the other side of the tracks, just a two minutes walk. All rooms are “non-smoking”. How to get to the hotel: If you arrive at Munich airport: Two S-Bahn – the S 1 and the S 8 – leave from Munich airport, both going to Munich center. In particular, both S-Bahn will pass “Donnersberger Br¨ ucke” where you should change to the S-Bahn S 7 (direction Wolfratshausen). The 9th station from Donnersberger Br¨ ucke is “Buchenhain”. You should buy a ticket at the airport (there are vending machines on the platform, but there is also a ticket counter before you take the escalator down to the platform. The easiest possibility is to buy a Einzelfahrt (one-way ticket) for 4 Fahrzonen (10,00 Euro). Note that you have to stamp (validate) the ticket at one of the blue stamping machines on the plattform. In case you arrive by train at Munich main station, you can directly take the S-Bahn S 7 (direction Wolfratshausen) to Buchenhain (11 stations). You may buy a Einzelfahrt for 2 Fahrtzonen (4,80 Euro) or a Streifenkarte (which costs 12,00 Euro, but you only need to stamp four of the ten stripes). Location The Workshop will take place in the premises of the Foundation in Pullach where we have a small conference room with overhead, projector, and flip chart. If you need anything else for your talk, please let us know. Furthermore, WLAN will be available in the rooms of the Foundation. From the hotel we will take the S-Bahn (S 7) from station Buchenhain to station Pullach. These are only two stations. We will give out Streifenkarten for all participants and for the trip from Buchenhain to Pullach you will only need to stamp one stripe. See attached map for your way from Pullach station to the foundation.
