Department Of Civil Engineering With the mission of to be an institution of excellence in engineering & technology to play a vital role in industrial development and economic growth of the nation through trained young technocrats, “FACULTY OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH (FETR)” was established in Year 2010. The institute is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Ahmadabad. The institute provides the following Engineering programs with an intake capacity of 420 seats per year.

The institute has envisioned to sharpen the multi-faceted talents of the learners and thus to make them sound technocrats who are competent to embark on a new era of science and technology in the global background. It is also the prime responsibility of the institute to harness students with the values of harmony and humanity for the betterment of the society. To fulfil this vision the institute provides students all possible infrastructure and educational facilities such as neat and airy classrooms, tutorial rooms, fully equipped laboratories, language lab to empower them in communicative English, computer centre, library, workshop, playground and canteen. This institution has been putting endless endurances to impart holistic education to the learners and to extract their hidden potential of all the academic-non academic fields.

Department Profile: The Civil Engineering Department has been established with a vision to prepare fresh engineers in the field who are expert in wide spectrum of activities involving Planning, Designing, Construction and Maintenance Of various Civil Engineering works. It is equipped with necessary equipments and learned faculties. The department has developed laboratories for subject like Elements of Civil Engineering, Mechanics of Solids, Concrete Technology, Fluid Mechanics, Surveying, Material Testing, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering subjects as per IS. HOD) Has Been Awarded Noel Deer Gold Medal – For The Year 2011, For Best Innovative Technical Paper “Thermal Pyrolysis Of Baggase: Yield And Characterization Of Bio-Oil” By Sugar Technologist Association Of India, At Pune, August 2011. Prof. Sejalkumar J. Patel Has 11 Years Experience Of Schedule –I Environmental Auditor, Recognized By Gujarat Pollution Control Board And Honourable Gujarat High Court. Till Date He Is Working As A Member Of Institute Audit Team As An Environmental Engineer. Prof. B. G. Patel has organized “Concrete Mix Design” workshop as a course coordinator held on 2nd and 5th August 2013 at Civil Engineering Department, F.E.T.R, Bardoli. Prof. N. J. Shakwala Has Qualified “GATE” Examination Taken By IIT With 83.04 Percentile In 2009. Prof. N. J. Shakwala Has 3 Years Experience Of Schedule –I Environmental Auditor, Recognized By Gujarat Pollution Control Board And Honourable Gujarat High Court. Till Date He Is Working As A Member Of Institute Audit Team As An Environmental Engineer. Prof. N. J. Shakwala Has Worked As Advisor And Coordinator Of “Hope: Eco-Club" Of Institute. He Led The Institute Team "Hope" At “Techfest Green Campus Challenge” Under Techfest2013 Organized By IIT, Bombay. Prof. N. J. Shakwala has conducted Two Workshop as a course coordinator: 1. Course Coordinator of 3 days Workshop on Environmental Engineering named, “Performance Enhancement of ETP” at F.E.T.R., Bardoli, Surat in APRIL 2012. 2. Course Coordinator of 2 days Workshop on Environmental Engineering named, “Cleaner Production and Waste Water Treatment” during 5th & 6th June, 2013” at P.E.P.L., Umbhel, Kadodara, Surat. Prof. Gaurav P. Barot is also working as a part time Professional Building Planner, Designer and Project Consultant at Surat.

Lab Infrastructure: Laboratories are the essentials assets for any engineering institute and vital for enhancing practical knowledge and theoretical knowledge implementation. Co-Curricular Activities: Department believes only theoretical knowledge is not sufficient for complete knowledge practical knowledge, current trends in market, field practices are also important. So there are number of activities were arranged for knowledge enhancement of students as well as faculties. Details are as given below. 1. “Concrete Mix Design” workshop held on 2nd and 5th August 2013 at Civil Engineering Department, F.E.T.R, Bardoli in collaboration of Ambuja Cement.

Department Initiatives: 1. Department has taken an initiative to do meditation practising “OMKAR” for five minutes before study starts. Faculties and students both practise OMKAR together before each lecture for concentration in subject and stability of mind. 2. Department has taken initiative named student development programme in which we have distributed our students in groups and guided by a faculty. The role of faculty is to pay personal attention on motivation, academics as well as personality development. 3. Civil engineering department of our institute always take stands for the overall development of students and enhance knowledge regarding field activities. Department has taken initiative named “Knowledge Sessions” in this direction. We are pleased to inform you about the activities held under knowledge series in our department.
