Climate in brief. Rainfall was above average in throughout the country except for Ha’apai which was just a little below average. Refer to Graph 1. Overall, September rainfall was above average, this amount is a relief for most places since the previous months below average rainfall were experienced throughout the country. Warmer than average temperatures were experienced across the country except in Niuatoputapu where it was 0.3oC cooler than average. The average temperature in September was 24.2°C which was 0.3°C warmer than average from Tonga’s 6 station). Refer Table 1. Highest maximum temperature was 33.0oC recorded in Niuafo’ou on the 2nd and the lowest minimum temperature was 12.8°C in Fua’amotu on the 30th. Refer Table 2.
