Club Manager - Role Description 1

Objective • •

To provide support to the Executive and Committee members To ensure the efficient operation of the Club both on and off the field

Responsibilities



2.1 General • • • • •

Understand, uphold and promote the club’s vision and plan for the future Attend monthly Committee meetings throughout the season Provide a monthly written report to the committee outlining work undertaken and planned Support initiatives with consideration for the club’s Model Rules and the leagues requirements Arrange the attendance for the coaches, team managers and trainers at required training programs e.g. Level 1 coaching trainers course, first aid training Maintain club officials records and ensure they are current e.g. Working With Children Certificates (WWCC), for coaches, team managers, trainers accreditations and volunteer certificates such as Responsible Serving of Alcohol Assist in the planning, set-up, running and cleaning up of all club events – Registration day, Gear pick up day, season launch, Family club nights, Presentation nights etc. Attend and help assist the social sub-committee with general duties at club social events – Friday night club nights, Sunday night club nights, Ashy Ball etc. Supporting the registrar with the registration process and accurate recording of club member details e.g. games played for milestones, tracking fill in games played affecting finals eligibility etc Undertake tasks at the request of the President, Executive or General Committee Assist other Committee members in their duties as required Use the nominated AUJFC club email address for consistency with the rest of the committee Use the clubs electronic document management repositories for all documentation storage 1

Ensure training and playing equipment is stored and readily available for all teams as required Provide Game Day Ground Manager responsibilities as required



2.2 Club Operations

Operate as the liaison point for the club with the Boroondara Council Manage the club rooms access cards and ground lights keys with the Boroondara City Council Be responsible for the application of all required licenses for the club – public liability insurance, contents insurance and player insurance Be responsible for the application of liquor licences (both annual and special occasion requests) Manage the tenancy agreements for Burwood Reserve & Ferndale Park and for affiliated Auskick centres – Burwood Reserve, Watson Park and Nettleton Park Be a point of contact with the Boroondara City Council, Burwood Cricket Club and St Mary’s Football Club with regards to the handover and/or access and management of the ground and clubhouse facilities at both Burwood Reserve and Ferndale Park Be a point of contact for any ongoing needs during season e.g. lights, rubbish collection, maintenance, etc.



2.3 Footy Operations





Operate as the liaison point for the club with the Yarra Junior Football League o Attend League meetings when required o Liaising with the Yarra Junior Football League with regards to team allocation across grades and broader fixture issues o Liaise with AFLVIC via YJFL as requested o Liaise with Footy Operations in a timely manner with regards to any actions and/or information from the league o Submit on behalf of AUJFC requested accreditations Supporting the footy operations portfolio team, where required, with regards to back of house planning, logistics of equipment distribution and storage, ground management and change room allocations each week (player medals and trophies) 2

Relationships • • •

Reports to the President Liaises and works with all relevant committee members and supports where required Liaises with the Boroondara City Council and Yarra League where required

Accountability • •

The Club Manager is accountable to the President Provide a report on portfolio operations to the monthly Committee meeting
