CMS Summer Reading 2017 We’ve noticed what books you like to read, and we wanted to offer suggestions about some more titles you might want to check out this summer. Carry a book wherever you go, and read whenever you can. If you fill out at least two book review forms from the CMS website over the summer, you will have a chance to win Scholastic Dollars to spend at the Fall Book Fair. Check out some of the suggested authors below! If you like SCARY books by Mary Downing Hahn, try a book by Jonathan Stroud, Holly Black, or Roland Smith If you LOVE Hatchet, try another adventure by Will Hobbs or Gordon Korman If you enjoy SPORTS, try fiction by Tim Green or Mike Lupica. If you enjoy humor by Jeff Kinney or Rene Russell, try books by Tom Angleberger or James Patterson’s Middle School series.
2017-2018 Georgia Peach Book Nominees for Grades 6-8 These titles are chosen by school and public librarians each year in an effort to promote literacy in middle grades students. Each year students across the state vote to select their favorite book, which becomes that year’s Georgia Peach Book Award Winner. These would also be a great place to start if you are looking for an interesting new book!
