Central Oregon Business Education Network Leadership Council Overview FUNCTION OF THE COBEN LEADERSHIP COUNCIL Purpose To provide leadership, develop goals and processes, strive for continuous improvement of offerings, and ensure proper function of COBEN. Qualifications Positions to be held include Chair, Vice-Chair, Programs, Marketing/Communications, Treasurer, Operations/Administration, Treasurer, and General Members. All positions are for one calendar year starting January 1 and ending December 31 of each year. Prospective COBEN Leadership Council members may self-nominate or be nominated by any general member of COBEN. a. General membership of COBEN is defined as an active member of the COBEN Meetup group. (www.meetup.com/COBEN12) b. If multiple members are nominated for a single leadership council position, a written vote shall commence by December 31st of the calendar year.

Central Oregon Business Education Network Leadership Council Overview Chair • Supports COBEN’s goal to serve its members and the community, and executes the duties of office, as described here, with the utmost professionalism, integrity and respect • Schedules and leads COBEN Leadership Council meetings • Plans and distributes agendas for COBEN Leadership Council meetings • Oversees all committees to ensure proper function • Prepares Vice-Chair for position of Chair • Provides oversight and guidance as Past Chair for the subsequent calendar year of holding the Chair position. Vice-Chair • Supports COBEN’s goal to serve its members and the community and executes the duties of office, as described here, with the utmost professionalism, integrity and respect • Substitutes as meeting organizer in the absence of the Chair • Serves as Chair at the beginning of the new year, following the year served as Vice-Chair

Central Oregon Business Education Network Leadership Council Overview Programs Lead • Develops program content and speaker line-up • Collects documentation from presenters (bio’s and presentation info) for use in press releases and social media • Coordinates with the Marketing/Communications Lead for exchange of information • Collects and processes presentation application for future presenters, if necessary

Operations & Administration Lead • Records meeting notes of the COBEN Leadership Council meetings and distributes to council members after each meeting • Maintains meeting notes on Meetup.com • Documents council structure, processes and procedures

Central Oregon Business Education Network Leadership Council Overview Marketing/Communications Lead • Develops all publicity on behalf of the COBEN Leadership Council and • Maintains social media outlets (Twitter, Facebook, Meetup Page, etc.) • Distributes monthly press releases to local media outlets for upcoming meetings no less than 2 weeks prior to monthly meeting • Seeks and establishes new channels to promote visibility of COBEN in Central Oregon.

Treasurer • Responsible for all financial transactions involving COBEN • Manages meeting registrations and payment of attendees • Keeps financial books (i.e.: balance sheet) current • Meets with Chair quarterly to review financial statements • Maintains a COBEN checking account • Presents a Treasurer’s Report at Leadership Council meetings as requested by the Council
