CodeUnCode EC-Council Code Uncode Code Uncode is conceptualized and organized by EC-Council. The goal of Code Uncode is to recognize the top talent in secure programming across India.

Code Uncode Overview Code Uncode is an initiative by EC-Council, the world’s largest certification body for Information Security professionals, to search for the top secure programmers in India. Happening for the first time in India, the aim of Code Uncode is to spur the growth in information security. Scheduled to take off in mid- May ’13 this is a nationwide event where we will invite students, colleges, corporates and professionals to participate and compete on the various levels of the competition. The event will bring together existing and aspiring secure programming enthusiasts from all facets of the infosec world - from the Corporates and government bodies to academic institutions. EC-Council looks forward to meet its mission with Code Uncode through:

I. Capacity Building: To discover talent, provide a platform for programmers to demonstrate their secure coding abilities; encouraging development in the larger field of information security. Besides being a platform that brings secure programmers together the event will also inspire the development of Information security professionals of the future.

II. Strengthen Awareness: To educate the Indian community on the issues of insecure programming and encourage further development in the field. Our mission is to spur the growth and raise awareness towards increased education and ethics in the information security domain through the Code Uncode competition.

III. National Footprint: To foster friendship and create cohesiveness between information security professionals, whether as an individual, representative of a corporation or of a national agency, and encourage frequent exchange of essential information, technology and skills through the competition.

Format of Code-Uncode The event will be conducted in 3 parts - Preliminary, Semi Finals and Finals, leading to identifying the most talented programmers in India. Preliminary Round - 120 Minutes • 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) in C, C++, .Net, Java Semi Final - 75 Minutes • 75 questions, which will be a mix of MCQ and Scenario Based Questions (SBQ) formats - C++ & .Net & Java Grand Finale - 60 Minutes • 10 SBQs, where maximum vulnerabilities will need to be discovered and fixed to make it the most secure program- Java/ .Net Note: Negative marking at all levels

How to Register? Students can register online directly through the website (www.eccouncil.org/codeuncode.aspx) or with the respective ATCs (list available on the website) in their regions.
