Cognitive emotion regulation is a critical part of cognitive approaches to psychotherapy. Therefore, instruments help scientific studies. The aim of the present study was to investigate a Persian translation of the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire-36 item (CERQ; Garnefski, Kraaij, & Spinhoven, 2001). 372 students were chosen using random cluster sampling from faculties of Tabriz University. The data were collected using Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ) and Mindfulness attention awareness scale (MAAS). Statistical analysis was done using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), Alfa coefficient correlation, and Pearson Correlation and t-test via SPSS software. The average age of the participations was 21.53±2.41. Result of confirmatory factor analysis using varimax rotation show that all items reported by Garnefski et al (2001) can be loaded on their factors correctly (KMO= 0.84, Bartlet test=7775.41, df=630, P
