Sun City Community Theatre Announces a
Cole Porter Mystery Song Contest With the upcoming July 7 opening of our big summer musical, “Anything Goes,” Sun City Community Theatre has decided to provide a little fun for theater-goers in the form of a contest. To win, see if you can guess the mystery Cole Porter song! Most of us are very familiar with the music of Cole Porter, who wrote the fantastic music and lyrics for “Anything Goes”. In addition to the title song, the show’s songs include such classics as “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “Blow, Gabriel, Blow,” “You’re the Top,” “It's DeLovely” and “Friendship”. In addition, Porter wrote music for a number of other musicals, including the well-known favorites “Kiss Me Kate” and “Can Can.” So here’s your chance to win a pair of tickets for a future SCCT production. Our club president, Arturo Iriarte, has selected a mystery song from one of Cole Porter’s shows – not necessarily a song from “Anything Goes.” (The mystery song title is safely locked away for safe-keeping). See if you can guess the winning song from among the attached list of Cole Porter songs. The official ballots for submitting your song pick are available at the Magnolia Hall box office, which is also the official drop-off point for submitting your ballot – but only during “Anything Goes” ticket sales hours*. Ballots will also be available at the June 9 SCCT monthly meeting, and a few local businesses (Books N Brew; Okatie Ale House, ice cream shop and liquor store; Mi Tierrita) will have ballots as well. The winning entries will be the first 10 (maximum) entries that correctly guess the mystery Cole Porter song. Each of the winners will receive 2 tickets to one of SCCT’s remaining shows for 2011 – either “Follies” (September) or “Arsenic and Old Lace” (November). Winners will be notified by phone or email after the July 16 closing of “Anything Goes.” Go ahead and try your luck! Who knows? You could end up a winner! * Magnolia Hall Box Office Hours for “Anything Goes”: •
Beginning Monday, June 6 - every Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 9–11 AM through the end of June.
•
Following the holiday weekend, box office reopens on Tuesday, July 5 and continues daily, Monday-Saturday from 9–11 AM as well as 60 minutes prior to each performance.
