The Coccinellidae, commonly known as lady beetles, consist of 360 genera and nearly 6000 species that occur worldwide. Species of the family Coccinellidae are predators of many agricultural pests such as aphids (Aphidoidea), psyllids (Psylloidea), scale insects (Coccoidea) and mites and the rest are phytophagous or mycophagous. They are known as biological control agents of pests on different crop products. Many species have been successfully employed in biological control programs. So far, more than 150 species of ladybirds have been reported from Iran. Yazd province in central Iran was surveyed for ladybird beetles during 2013-2015. Samples were collected from 40 different localities at 1158 2987 meter altitude. During each sampling, coccinellid beetles were collected using an aspirator, when observed, or by standard sweeping net. Totally 33 species from 17 genera, 5 tribes and 5 subfamilies were collected and identified. Among them, fifteen species of ladybird beetles which are marked with an asterisk (*) are new records from Yazd province. Morphological characteristics and male genitalia were used for identification. The identification was confirmed by Prof. Dr. Helmut FÜrsch from Germany and Dr. Claudio Canepari from Italy. The specimens were deposited in the Entomology Department of the Agricultural Sciences College, Shiraz Branch, Islamic Azad University, Iran. The species are: Chilocorus bipustulatus (Linnaeus, 1758); Exochomus gebleri (Weise, 1885)*; Exochomus quadripustulatus (Linnaeus, 1758); Exochomus undulatus (Weise, 1878)*; Parexochomus nigripennis (Erichson, 1843); Parexochomus nigromaculatus (Goeze, 1777)*; Platynaspis luteorubra (Goeze, 1777)*; Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Mulsant, 1853*; Adalia bipunctata (Linnaeus, 1758); Adalia decempunctata (Linnaeus, 1758); Coccinella septempunctata Linnaeus, 1758; Coccinella undecimpunctata aegyptiaca Reiche, 1861; Coccinula elegantula (Weise, 1890); Hippodamia (Adonia) variegata (Goeze, 1777), Menochilus sexmaculatus (Fabricius; 1781)*, Oenopia conglobata contaminata (Menetries, 1849); Oenopia oncina (Olivier, 1808); Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata (Linnaeus, 1758)*; Hyperaspis quadrimaculata (Redtenbacher, 1844); Hyperaspis reppensis (Herbst, 1783); Hyperaspis syriaca Weise, 1885*; Hyperaspis vinciquerrae Capra, 1929*; Hyperaspis histeroides Faldermann, 1837*; Clitostethus arcuatus (Rossi, 1794)*; Nephus bisignatus (Boheman, 1850)*; Nephus bipunctatus (Kugelann, 1794)*; Nephus (Nephus) quadrimaculatus (Herbst, 1783)*; Scymnus araxicola Fleischer 1900*; Scymnus (Pullus) subvillosus (Goeze, 1777 ); Scymnus (Scymnus) suffrianioides apetzoides Capra & Fursch, 1967; Scymnus syriacus (Marseul ,1868); Stethorus gilvifrons (Mulsant, 1850) ; Pharoscymnus sp.
