The International Baccalaureate (IB) program offers college level courses that provide students with an in depth, culturally, diverse, global education. Certain colleges offer credit to students who earn high enough scores on IB exams or who complete the IB diploma program.
PLTW students have access to a variety of dual credit opportunities. Some post-secondary institutions recognize PLTW students with course credit. In order to receive this undergraduate credit from participating universities, students must successfully complete any of the eligible PLTW courses, earn an A or B in the class, and have a score of 6 or higher on the end-of-course exam. Participating university requirements may vary.
Summit Technology Academy (STA) prepares students for high demand, high wage professional studies careers. All STA courses offer college credit to eligible students. Students can earn 3 to 16 credit hours per course in any given year. STA offers two accelerated bachelor’s degree programs. One is the Missouri Innovation Campus (MIC) program, which includes a 3-year paid internship as part of the degree program. The other degree program is called University of Kansas-Degree in 3. Engineering Path: Digital Electronics/CIM, Aerospace, Computer Science Path: Software Development, Network Engineering, Cyber Security Health Science Path: Professional Nursing, Allied Health Academy, Medical Interventions/Biomedical Innovations Human Services & Finance Path: International Studies Academy, Teacher Educator Academy, Hospitality Tourism Management, Executive Finance and Fintech Arts & Communication Path: Digital Media Technology
12th grade year — has a varied schedule as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Friday @ the MIC building and MCC campus for college courses Tuesday and Thursday @ MIC internship site
12th grade year — students access as many dual credit and MCC credits as possible
