Budget Items: Jesse reviewed last year’s budget expenditures and shared the amount we are projected to receive this year. We have $1,690 left over from last year that can be spent now. Expenditures for the coming year can be in several categories and must be tied to our school improvement plan. Proposed Expenditures Discussed: These items are in order of priority. • • •

Remaining budget from last to purchase chrome books for counseling. 2 Additional laptop carts at $9600 each. Professional development (Why Try). This is a proactive training for teachers that will be conducted during the summer. It helps teachers present students with ways for coping, management, and moving forward. Teachers will receive a $100 stipend for attending. Reading Plus. This program has been effective and will be continued next year. Graphing Calculators. These are needed for testing. There aren’t enough in the school at present and some of the old ones will need to be replaced soon.

These expenditures were discussed and passed by a vote of council members. These items will be presented for a final vote at the next meeting. Visit: Jesse discussed the visit we had recently from Davis School District. They were interested in the improvement made in math scores. He also went over current test scores and our growth model. A 2% increase across the board on test scores for the coming year will be challenging but achievable. He commended the teachers for the hard work they are doing to achieve current goals. ACT Test: The Sophomore class will be taking the test this Saturday. There are 24 students signed up. Jackie has coordinated breakfast and snacks for them. Miscellaneous Items: • •

Is there a better place to put the dumpsters that are currently in front of the shop? The orange barricades between the shop and gym don’t look good. Cory is building a chain system that will replace them. The barricades prevent the water system in the shop from freezing and discourage students from driving where students may be walking or getting on the bus. Cory has built a 9’ letter A to put in front of the school.

Next Meeting: January 24, 2017 @ 3:00 pm in the Faculty Room.
