Permanent Term Time Only (No holidays will be taken during term time unless under exceptional circumstances and with prior agreement of the Headteacher) 17.5 hours per week Mon – Fri 17.45 – 21.15 Must be available to work some weekends. JOB PURPOSE:
The core focus of this job is to carry out duties as a competent person in supporting the operation of the facility. The post holder will do this by promoting good customer relations and assisting in the provision of a quality service in accordance with the Charges and Remissions Policy and BHS policies, procedures and regulations.
JOB CONTEXT:
Boroughbridge High School (BHS) Community Leisure Centre (CLC) is a sports facility housing a large sports hall, small Astro Turf pitch, outdoor pitches/surfaces, tennis and cricket. The centre is used by BHS during the day and by the wider community of Boroughbridge and beyond on an evening and at weekend. The post holder will direct and supervise the Assistant in providing the highest possible customer service to all users, support the development of new initiatives, and personally be responsible for their own health and safety requirements, in line with national HSE guidelines, as well as supporting those of the centre. The post holder will be expected to have an enhanced DBS clearance and undertake in house safeguarding training. The post holder will also supervise the Assistant and be responsible for the security of the site, staff and users, together with any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grade and level of responsibility of the post
ACCOUNTABILITIES / MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Operational Issues Carry out the role in accordance with the directives given by their Line Manager Briefing all customers on the correct use of the facilities ensuring putting away equipment after use properly Support the users of BHS CLC to enhance their enjoyment of the facility and to prevent injury, misuse or damage Providing basic rules and instructions to a variety of the CLC customers General duties including setting out and taking down equipment

Taking & administering bookings, mailing and receiving applications, supporting paperwork and Policies Cash handling, securing and reconciling with bookings and the school office when handing over the income Security of the facilities (locking up / opening up) including deactivating and setting the CLC alam system Communicate regularly with the Line Manager Effectively communicate with the Assistant, school staff and between BHS CLC customers, partners, trades persons and businesses Provide Health and Safety information to all customers as well as information about the facilities available Support the current and development of new partnerships and business strategies and encourage more use and customers to the CLC Support the Assistant and Line Manager in the effective management of the facility and all relevant equipment matters Responsibility for the effective security of the premises In accordance with directives and policies be responsible for the effective security of the facility during evenings and weekend shifts Support the Line Manager in the effective implementation of the Emergency Action plans and policies and Energy Conservation matters Brief the Assistant on their duties and provide and update them on all related issues and occurances prior to their shift

Whilst working hours will be planned and shared with the CLC Assitant as decided and agreed; the Line Manager will decide the hours if there is an impass. The post holder must be flexible to working hours. Whether the school is in term time or not, working periods/hours are weekday evenings, and some weekends. The post holder must be available to work these times. All staff are required to comply with North Yorkshire County Council and BHS Policies and Procedures BHS requires that all staff offer the best level of service to their customers and behave in a way that gives them confidence.
