TRANSFER PROGRAM OF STUDY AT A FLORIDA COMMUNITY/STATE COLLEGE FOR THE MAJOR IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING

Students transferring to Florida Atlantic University must complete both lower-division requirements (including the requirements of the Intellectual Foundation Program) and requirements for the college and major. Lowerdivision requirements may be completed through the A.A degree from any Florida public college, university or community college or through equivalent coursework at another regionally accredited institution.

Lower level coursework required for the major in Computer Engineering: They must be completed after admission to FAU if not done so in advance with a grade of “C” or greater and a GPA in the core courses of a 2.5 or greater. The calculus and physics (including lab) sequence of courses must be complete with at least a 2.5 GPA. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING ADMISSION POLICIES Admission to the College of Engineering and Computer Science is contingent upon the student meeting the following requirements: • Formal application to a particular engineering program after successfully completing the core courses • A core course may not be repeated more than once. Failure to receive a passing grade in the second attempt is grounds for denial of admission to an engineering or computer science program. • The entry-level mathematics requirement for the engineering programs is Calculus 1. Placement in lower-level mathematics courses may delay entry into a particular program.
