Accuracy in Media Conference
ObamaNation: A Day of Truth September 21, 2012 Allison Center The Heritage Foundation 214 Massachsetts Ave., NE Washington, DC
A Message from the Chairman I’d like to welcome you to this important Accuracy in Media conference, ObamaNation: A Day of Truth. For more than four decades, AIM has turned a watchful eye on the mainstream press. We have worked overtime to expose how the media intentionally deceive the public by force-feeding them propaganda and ignoring the facts that don’t support their left-wing views. But this year’s presidential election campaign has provided even more reasons for AIM to ramp up its scrutiny of the press. Not only is the political left determined to catapult their candidate into another four year term, but they’ve launched a massive disinformation campaign about the current administration, orchestrated by the mainstream press, to ensure that it happens. That’s why AIM has assembled such an impressive roster of experts to shine the light of truth upon the corruption and desingenuousness that characterizes the Obama administration and their sycophants in the press. This year marks the 40th anniversary of our AIM Report newsletter – our respected vehicle for critiquing the great media issues of our time, confronting America’s largest media corporations and taking to task the most powerful names in the news industry for their misreporting. While the mainstream media continue to engage in deliberately deceitful and dangerous behavior that threatens the fabric of our nation, it is a reminder to those of us gathered here today that the real power of our great country still lies with individuals who – time after time – have stood up to protect the principles and values on which this nation was founded – and who are not afraid to speak truth to power in order to defend America’s freedom.
