'01 CLASS DESCRIPTIONS: CLASS 101
Discovering Christian Life Highland United Methodist Church offers a series of 'Core' classes called the '01s'. These classes are recommended for every person regardless of where they are in their Christian walk. The classes can be taken in order, but it is not necessary. However, we do request that anyone interested in becoming a member of the church should complete "101 - Discovering Christian Life" prior to joining. Class 101 offers a guided tour of the church's purpose and strategy. The main education opportunities at HUMC generally run from September to May, though there can be classes available throughout the year. We provide both short (6-12weeks) and long-term (30-32weeks) classes. Most of them are scheduled for the same weekday evening, though we may also offer Sunday morning or weekend opportunities from time to time. Contact the church office for our current schedule.
(Facilitator - Pastor James Kummer) Using a notebook, you will be guided through discussion such as Why Am I Here?, Baptism, the Lord's Supper, and the Church's purpose and strategy.
CLASS 201
Discovering Spiritual Maturity Topics include spiritual maturity and habits. You will discover how to get a 'grasp on your Bible,' why prayer and fellowship are so important, and how to start and MAINTAIN good habits.
CLASS 301
Christian discipleship is very important to us. Being in God's Word is foundational to our faith, so we continually review and test new material for classes. In the process we have found several studies that we consider "tried but true." Those include the '01s as well as those listed below. Other studies are added to the annual schedule on a rotating basis. ●

CLASS 401
Become a Contagious Christian This study is designed to equip believers for effective evangelism in today's world. YOU will learn how to share the gospel in a natural and powerful way while being the person God made you to be. Step by step guidance will be given through discussion, self-assessments, and video vignettes.
