Discuss The Orphan Master’s Son @ Your Library! Join the Easley Book Discussion Group on Tuesday, February 25th at 7 pm at the Hampton Memorial Library as we talk about The Orphan Master’s Son, the Pulitzer Prize-Winning novel by Adam Johnson. Pak Jun Do is given his first taste of power while working at his father’s camp for orphans in North Korea. He catches the attention of his superiors, rises in the ranks, and finds himself working as a government-sanctioned professional kidnapper under the watchful eyes of Korean overlords. Upon falling in love with a legendary actress, he takes on the treacherous role of rival to Kim Jong Il in an attempt to save her life. Part thriller and part love story, The Orphan Master’s Son is also a riveting look inside the world’s most mysterious dictatorship. “An exquisitely crafted novel that carries the reader on an adventuresome journey into the depths of totalitarian North Korea and into the most intimate spaces of the human heart.” —Pulitzer Prize citation The Easley Book Discussion Group meets regularly on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 pm. It is free to join and new members are always welcome. For more information, please call the library at 850-7077.
