Welcome the colors of autumn at the Ottawa County Parks properties with a guided hike or kayak trip. Park naturalists have lined up a series of hikes throughout some of the most captivating County Parks where you can witness the seasonal changes along the trails. “These hike engage senses through the sights, sounds and smells of autumn,” commented Kristin Hintz, Coordinator of Interpretive Services. The free, guided hikes are offered nearly every Wednesday into November and no registration is required. For those who prefer to explore via water, Kayak Trips are planned for October 4 and October 8. You will be ushered through the serene waters of the Crockery Creek or the peaceful path of the Pigeon River while your guide describes the natural and historical features along the way. The fee for each trip is $8 per person plus $26 if kayak rental is needed. Register in advance by calling 616-786-4847.

Connor Bayou: (12945 North Cedar Drive, Grand Haven) From M-45, travel north on 128th to North Cedar Drive. Turn left on North Cedar (gravel portion) to the entrance.

Eastmanville Farm: (7851 Leonard Road, Coopersville) From M-45, travel north on 68th to Leonard. Travel one mile west to the entrance. Hemlock Crossing: (8115 West Olive Road, West Olive) From US 31, travel west on Croswell to West Olive Road. Travel south on West Olive Road along the train tracks to the entrance. Macatawa Greenspace: (1230 Paw Paw Drive) From Chicago Drive, travel south on 112th to Paw Paw Drive. Travel east on Paw Paw to the entrance. Mt. Pisgah: (2227 Ottawa Beach Road, Holland) From US-31, travel west on Lakewood Boulevard. Keep left to Douglas Avenue as you continue to travel west nearly seven miles to Black Lake Boardwalk. Hike back 700 north to the Mt. Pisgah trailhead. Pigeon Creek: (12524 Stanton Street, West Olive) From US-31, travel east on Stanton Street to the entrance. Riverside Park: (10317 North Cedar Drive, Grand Haven) Travel north on 104th to North Cedar. Turn right on North Cedar to then entrance. Rosy Mound: (13925 Lakeshore Drive N, Grand Haven) From US-31, turn west on Rosy Mound Drive, then south on Lakeshore Drive to the entrance.
