Intensive Review in Diagnostic Neuroradiology: Update 2015 May 30 – 31, 2015 O’Keeffe Auditorium, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA OFFERED BY

Massachusetts General Hospital, Department of Radiology COURSE DIRECTORS

R. Gilberto Gonzalez, MD, PhD and Michael H. Lev, MD, FAHA FACR COURSE DESCRIPTION: Neuroimaging is a rapidly advancing field with frequent new developments in scanning modalities, protocols, clinical indications, patient management, and post-processing techniques. The educational objective of this intensive two-day course is to provide a comprehensive, focused review of the major basic and advanced principles of clinical diagnostic neuroradiology. Specifically, we will emphasize the management, acquisition, and interpretation of structural and functional imaging studies of the brain, spine, and extra-cranial head and neck, with a goal towards appropriate application of clinical imaging algorithms, implementation of relevant recent technical advances, and formulation of differential diagnoses. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: • Apply emerging technologies in diagnostic neuroimaging to the care of their patients • Select the most appropriate and cost effective imaging studies for specific clinical problems of the central nervous system and head and neck • Provide a full range of diagnostic possibilities for simple and complex imaging problems of the CNS and head and neck • Integrate the most current pathophysiological and pathological concepts into the interpretation of these imaging studies TARGET AUDIENCE: This course is suited to those preparing for subspecialty certification or recertification exams in neuroradiology, but would benefit any neuroradiologist, general radiologist, neurologist, neurosurgeon, primary care physician, resident, or technologist – at any level of training – who requires a brief but thorough advanced clinical update in state-of-the-art neuroimaging applicable to clinical practice. ACCREDITATION: The Harvard Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Harvard Medical School designates this live activity for a maximum of 15.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada recognizes conferences and workshops held outside of Canada that are developed by a university, academy, hospital, specialty society or college as accredited group learning activities. AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ claimed by physicians attending live events certified and organized in the United States for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ can be claimed through the agreement on mutual recognition of credits between UEMS and AMA, considered as being equal to the European Continuous Medical Education Credits (ECMEC©) granted by the UEMS. One AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ is equivalent to one (1) hour of European EACCME Credit (ECMEC©), therefore up to 15.00 ECMEC© Credits are available. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. ACGME COMPETENCIES: This course is designed to meet one or more of the following Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education competencies: • Patient care • Medical knowledge • Practice-based learning and improvement • Interpersonal and communication skills and systems-based practice. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Tuition Fees: Physicians $500.00 (USD), Residents and Fellows in Training $350.00 (USD), Allied Health Professionals $350.00 (USD).
