7 ME 60+30 7 Prof. Igor Balen Lecturer: Course objective: The course enables a thorough understanding of different ventilation and air-conditioning systems design and how these systems affect thermal comfort and indoor air quality. The emphasis is on the important parameters and effects of air-conditioning on indoor thermal environment, as well as the implications on energy management in buildings. The course covers latest technology in energy efficiency practice in the built environment. Prerequisite: Thermodynamics, Heating Learning outcomes: The contents of this course refer especially to the technologies used for the space conditioning regarding thermal comfort. It enables thorough understanding of different HVAC systems and how they affect energy use, thermal comfort and indoor air quality in buildings. After finishing this course, students should be able to participate in the design of HVAC systems for different applications. Course contents 1.
