Create an internal project website   With Google Sites, you can easily create an internal  website, and you don’t need any technical skills. Google  Sites makes it easy to publish a website to the internet  directly from your Chrome browser using the  drag-and-drop builder. Your site layout will adjust to a grid  based on the content you’re dragging and dropping.   The new Google Sites makes it simpler to put together a  site, resize and arrange content, and use updated themes.  Google Sites websites are responsive, which means they’re  optimized for tablets and smartphones, too.   When you create a new site, it’s automatically added to Drive, like your other files stored  in Drive. You can edit a Google Site together with someone else in real time, and see  each other’s changes live. Publish the site for everyone to see, or restrict sharing  permissions and make the site accessible only to people you want to share it with, like  vendors or suppliers. You can even use Google Analytics with your site.

Create a website with the new Google Sites    1.

There are 2 ways to start your new site:  ○

From Drive, click New > More, then click Google Sites.

In your Chrome or other browser, go to  sites.google.com/new, then click Create new site

2.

Give your site a document name (only you will see), a site name (for the web),  and a page title (that appears at the top of the page).

3.

Add a background image, change the header, and choose a theme   (color scheme and font). Or, you can change this later.

4.

Add your pages. With the new Google Sites, you can nest pages together,   so a page becomes a subtopic of the main page.

5.

Next, add your content.   Add photos, text, PDFs, and embed any file that you have in Drive, such as a  Google Docs file. Changes you make to the source file automatically update on  your website. You can even add YouTube videos, appointment calendars, and  Google maps (of your business or a conference location, for example).

6.

Move and reorder content, and crop and edit images directly in Sites.

Continue editing your site with more detailed instructions in   the Learning Center’s Getting Started with Sites guide.
