Pictures and small mementos are the main structure and content in most scrapbooks. What separates a picture album from a scrapbook is the creativity that is introduced in the design and makeup of the scrapbook versus the bland and more laid back approach to placing items into a picture album. Scrapbooks are the modern example of the handcrafted family keepsake. They are full of uniqueness and personality. A great way to add flair to scrapbooks without taking the emphasis off the pictures and personal mementos is by interjecting cute quotes from friends and family into their layout. Cute quotes can be taken from everyday life, family, friends, television, books, anyplace you like. Until you have collected enough quotes together to insert them into a scrapbook, it is a good idea to find a special place to keep them. I would

recommend storing them in a box or basket, close by the pen and paper you keep on hand in order to jot them down in case you are in a rush. After you have assembled a considerable amount of cute quotes, then you can begin to consider

Stark white chalk is a great idea to add a little plausibility if you choose this method. Take care not to smudge your writing. When you are finished, lightly mist the chalkboard with a clear polyurethane coating to be sure that the chalk will remain intact. When working on a sport's related scheme, if all else fails, create background shapes in tune with that particular sport. When scrapbooking for a basketball player, a rough appearing floor plan of a basketball team's plays would be an example of a creative design. You could jot various sayings of interest in and around the court, posing them as if they were representing plays or players. There are a million different ways in which you can lay out a sports theme with the cute quotes, be imaginative!

A wedding themed scrapbook should make use of a softer, gentler background for the quotes. A satin material background with cute quotes and memories with a sheer covering held on by a tied ribbon at the top would be a gorgeous wedding arrangement. Other options include parchment; even a thin sheet of embossed silver or gold would be distinctive and ideal for very special or sentimental quotes. You can incorporate really cute quotes and thoughts into any scrapbook layout. The thing to remember is to find a unique way to tie the quotes in with your scrapbook's theme matter. There are unlimited amounts of ways to do this. The more you are able to base the design around personal items, the more sentimental value your scrapbook holds for future viewing. All in all, I believe you will find after time that you treasure these cute quotes and sayings. They can help remind one of a time once lost. They can bring back long ago spoken words of a loved one. Have you ever considered writing down all of those old adages and sayings that your mother and father always said over and over to you? Cataloguing famous quotes is a fun way to do this and it preserves that memory of the people who said them often to you for the future. If you have the time, it might be interesting to actually sit down and try to research where each quote originated. It will give you insight in how the famous quotes were coined and will offer you an amusing story to share with family and friends.

Once you have a general idea of the order that you would like the laid out in, it’s time to consider what type of layout to create to place them in. The theme or subject your quotes and scrapbook are based on will influence the best layout ideas. When I think about famous quotes I tend to envision something proper

or formal in appearance so it’s a great time to pull out the linen or parchment paper and practice your calligraphy skills. As I often mention, if you happen to be a little unsure of your penmanship skills and would prefer to type your quotes out using a word processing programyou can always hunt around the internet for some calligraphy-style fonts for use with this project. Keep in mind that typing out your poems will give you less control over the actual positioning unless you are fairly familiar with your word

processing tool. If you’re weighing back and forth between writing them by hand or typing them out, you can always sit down with a spare piece of paper and practice just to see what type of results you get by writing them yourself. When attempting to write neatly and formally, the pen type and paper choice are just as important as the writer’s actual writing abilities. Remember, it couldn’t hurt anything to give it a try and you might be pleasantly surprised with your abilities. Good luck!
