Crowdfunding for a systematic review Background The practice of generating fund for a project or venture by raising monetary contributions from a large number of people via internet has been termed crowd funding. The crowd funding campaigner states exactly how much they need for the completion of their project and will only receive fund if they meet the target. It takes significant amount of time and effort for the campaigner to engage people beyond his/her established networks and raise adequate funds for the project. Objective  To incentivise team that had to update a systematic review of interventions to sit less at work.  Target: 2500 euros in 90 days (sept-dec) Methods: A 90 seconds video was made to explain what the project is about, what you propose to do, and why it is important and uploaded in Youtube. A facebook page sitlessatwork was created to explain details and technicalities of the research project. Similarly we used twitter and blogs in various websites to inform people about our project. We also prepared a list of e-mail addresses of friends, family, colleagues, and potential sponsors to engage them in our project. We planned to give rewards to our donors in return for their support. We planned to send 6 newsletters for 25 euros donation, webinar for 100 euros donation ad visit at the editorial office for 250 euros donation. Results: We were successful in collecting 1600 euros from 40 persons in exchange for 6 newsletters, 2 webinars and 1 meeting. We got 233 likes and lively discussion for our facebook page. The most important thing is we were able to complete our review on time. Most contribution were made by personal contacts (dear friends and relatives). We found that likes on Facebook are very easy to get but money very difficult. Conclusion: The campaign is very labour intensive. There would be lively and interesting discussions on the research topic. This campaign might also be a platform for dissemination of our research findings once it is completed.
