DEFENSIVE

SPECIAL TEAMS

Austin Gahafer, Morehead State

Mike Marston, Marist

Matt Ward, Morehead State

Gahafer threw five touchdowns in a game for the first time this season, leading Morehead State to a 54-28 PFL victory at Butler, Saturday. He completed 34-of-43 passes (79.1 percent) with no interceptions for school-record 465 yards. His five touchdown tosses went to four different receivers. In addition, two Eagles receivers finished with more than 100 yards receiving in the contest. It was the best single-game passing yardage performance in the PFL this season. The effort pushed Gahafer to both the PFL career passing yardage and career total offense records. He finished the game with 11,259 career passing yards and 11,572 yards total offense.

Marston intercepted two passes, returning one for a touchdown, in the Red Foxes 45-38 PFL victory at Stetson, Saturday. His first pick came on Stetson’s second drive and he returned it 24 yards to setup the Marist offense which needed just six plays to convert the turnover into a touchdown. Marston’s second interception halted Stetson’s first drive of the second quarter and his 16-yard return resulted in his first career touchdown. He also had four tackles (two solo) in the contest.

Ward connected on four field goals and scored 18 points in Morehead State’s 54-28 PFL win at Butler, Saturday. He entered the game just 2-for-3 on field goal tries for the season but converted all four of his kicks, Saturday, while also making all six of his PATs. The four field goals tied the Eagles program record and the most in the PFL this season. Ward’s 18 points scored are the most by a kicker in the PFL and second-most by a FCS kicker this season.
