The advantage of this material is that it is rigid, therefore it glues together straight and stays straight. This is particularly critical on kits such as our turntables or larger buildings where precision is required. Brick and roofing material are created using a patterned sheet which is applied to the acrylic, while stone structures feature laser engraved mortar lines. Some models include cast plaster, metal or resin detail parts as well. All parts are pre-cut, and many feature tab and slot construction. Thorough instructions are included with each kit. Everything you need is included except tools, paint and glue.

If you already have a design we can work from that, maybe making a suggestion or two along the way. We manufacture the bench-work, lay the track and wire the whole system. Everything is done so that it can be added onto or upgraded at a later date with minimum work involved. We use only the best available equipment, so as to ensure years of trouble-free operation and model railroading pleasure. We craft the landscape and install the structures, working to create scenes with a feeling of purpose and detailed reality true to the prototype. Substations NEW 2016
Substations convert high voltage electricity to lower voltage electricity. They can also be used to regulate or distribute electricity on a grid. Our kits are based on substations found along the Milwaukee Road. They provided regulated electrical power to the catenary lines on the railroad. They can be used for many other applications as well, many large industries would require a substation.

Create a destination point for your coal trains with lots of action. Coal is unloaded in the double track hopper located on the side of the building. From there it is loaded into the tipple for storage. After being pulverized the coal is used to fire the furnaces that generate steam. Spent fuel is then loaded out of the bottom of the building into trucks for disposal. Steam is used to power the city steam system or used to run turbines to generate electricity.

This model is based on a highrise apartment that was built in the 1890's. Our model has seven floors as well as a roof level for mechanical and elevator equipment.
The building is based on a Detroit skyscraper that was completed in1919 in the Gothic Revival architectural style. It has 14 floors. Our model has 10 floors and can be increased to 14 floors with the addition of the Add-On kit (sold separately). The building was named after Richard H. Fyfe, a Detroit merchant who made his fortune in the shoe trade. For many years, it had a Fyfe shoe store at street level and offices in the upper stories.

The Passenger Concourse is designed as an add-on to the City Station. It accommodates up to six tracks and three platforms, and includes the concourse plus three pairs of platform stairs. The stairs raise the concourse and station to about 4 inches above track level on our HO scale model.

This classic stone station is based upon the original Western Maryland station located in York, Pennsylvania. Towboats & Barges
Towboat Scale: HO Size: 4"W x 8.5"L waterline model HO Scale kit features laser cut acrylic parts with metal and resin detail parts. Historical Notes: Early in American history barges were lashed together and referred to as a "Tow". It naturally followed that the boat used to move the tow was referred to as towboat despite the fact that it pushed them. The typical shallow water towboat is built with a flat bottom, shallow draft hull (6.5 to 9 ft). The hull is heavily reinforced to withstand the towboat's constant bumping and scraping on the river bottom. Because the draft is so shallow, some captains claim they can navigate their boats in a "heavy dew." The kit features a mid-sized inter-coastal and river towboat typical of those built in the late 1970's. These are found pushing one to fifteen barges filled with everything from trash, coal, grain and fuel products. The model includes all the parts needed to complete the kit including cast metal detail parts. Instructions include detailed photos and diagrams for ease of construction.
Barge Scale HO Size: 4”W x 12”L or 4”W x 15”L HO Scale kit features laser cut acrylic parts with metal detail parts. The kit is based on inter-coastal and river barges and may be built in several configurations. It may be built either as a Deck Barge or as a Dry Cargo Barge, with or without interior braces. We began manufacturing these turntable kits after our own frustration in finding a reliable turntable that we could actually drive a locomotive onto, turn and drive off. Turntable features include: laser cut acrylic parts, all metal pit rail, high performance sealed wheel bearings on the trucks, sintered oil-impregnated bronze bushing used for the center shaft, auto reverse track polarity, bridge track power via a split rail system, lift off removable bridge and drop in construction for easy installation. CMR Turntable Motor Includes a 0.45 RPM motor, 2 switches wired for easy hook up as well as a shaft coupler. The first switch is for clockwise or counter clockwise motion of your turntable. The second switch will start & stop rotation, and also jog the turntable to desired position with precision. There is also a motor mounting kit which allows you to mount the motor directly to the bottom of the turntable pit. NYRS PTCIII Indexing System The NYRS PTCIII system can index up to 99 tracks in any location. It comes with a keypad selector, stepper motor, motor controller as well as a power supply and all necessary cables. The NYRS motor mounts directly to the bottom of our turntable kit without any further mounting brackets needed. Order direct from NYRS.

Roundhouse Scale: HO Size: 6 stalls, 90' to 135' deep The kit features laser cut acrylic parts. Designed after a “modern” cast concrete roundhouse, our kit was created with flexibility in mind. The kit includes six stalls spaced on 10 degree increments. It can be built with fewer stalls if needed, or you can also combine kits to create a roundhouse with more stalls. It can be built to four different lengths depending upon how long you need it to be. Lengths are 90', 105', 120' and 135'. You can build some stalls longer than others. Details includes concrete floor with inspection pits, interior columns, two rear doors, large windows for interior views and more.

Stone Viaduct Detailed instructions feature step by step assembly diagrams and photographs. The instructions also include sections on painting and finishing your model. The stone viaduct assembles in modules allowing multiple configurations to be built. The pilasters will be added to cover the seams. The Stone Railroad Viaduct can be built in many different configurations some of which are shown below. You can combine more kits for longer spans.

Viaduct Add On Kit Includes one Main Arch and one Mid Pier Size 4"W x 11.75”L x 4.5"H HO Scale kit features laser cut acrylic parts with engraved stone pattern. Historical Notes: Our prototype was a stone viaduct built in the 1820's to serve the railroads during the beginning of the railroad transportation age in America. The viaduct was completed in 1829 and still stands in service today. The original viaduct consists of one main arch span with stone work on either side of it. On one side an additional small arch was constructed to accommodate a cart path. The basic kit contains all the elements needed to build the original viaduct. Specifications: This kit contains four basic elements: two End Piers, three Mid Piers, one Main Arch and one Small Arch Pier. You can assemble these in any order you like, as they are completely modular with the exception of the end piers. If you wish to build the viaduct as a longer structure, you may combine kits or purchase our add-on kit which contains an extra Main Arch and Mid Pier. You may add as many as you need.

Vertical Lift Bridge
Lift Bridge Scale: HO Single Track Size: 2.75”W x 28.75”L x 13.5”H Double Track: 5”W x 28.75”L x 13.5”H Two 9” Approach bridges included for a total length of 46.75” HO Scale stationary kit features laser cut acrylic parts. A vertical lift bridge has a span which rises vertically while remaining parallel with the track. The counterweights on a vertical lift bridge only have to be equal to the weight of the bridge, whereas on a bascule bridge counterweights must weigh several times more than the span being lifted. Therefore heavier materials can be used on the deck of the lift bridge which makes it especially well suited for heavy railroad use. Our bridge is based upon typical lift bridges found in the United States spanning the Mississippi and other major rivers. These were built from the early 1900’s on. It has a 115’ long lift span and towers that rise 75 feet. The entire bridge is raised on concrete piers and has rather unique footings. In addition to the lift bridge the kit includes two 65’ long girder bridges which may be used as approaches to the main bridge. This is a non operating model. Rolling Lift Bridge
Operating Rolling Lift Bridge Scale: HO Single Track Size: 3”W x 15”L Double Track: 5”W x 15”L Optional Motor Kit available
Advanced kit for experienced modelers. Operating Rolling Lift Bridge with the optional motor kit (sold separately). Available in single and double track versions. Our model is based on a bridge built in the early 1900's and was designed by the Scherzer Rolling Lift Bridge Co. The bridge has a counterweight and raises with a rolling lift motion that moves the bridge up and out of the way. The rotation axis occurs at the pinion point which is located along a toothed rack. By pulling the pinion gear horizontally along the rack the bridge is rolled back and lifted up. The bridge rolls along the bottom on a segmented girder. The curved part of the girder has guide pockets that roll across guide blocks. This keeps the bridge aligned and from slipping. Our bridge has a 75' (10.25") lift bridge span and a 30' (4.0") fixed bridge span. The total length is 110' (15") including the abutments. The single track bridge requires a space 15" long and 3" wide.

The double track bridge requires a space 15" long and 5" wide. The distance from the bottom of the base to the bottom of the track is 3.5". The motor kit is sold separately.
