Dear fellow Neijia student, Welcome to IMA1402 studio! We are looking forward to share the practice with you. Neijia relates to the internal martial arts family and in China these are taichi, xingyi and bagua. Our system belongs to the bagua lineage led by Master Liu Xuyang, the fifth generation practitioner. The first step in practice is to learn Neijia Qigong standing postures. These exercises will help you open meridians to enable the flow of qi for balance and health. We strongly recommend that you practice daily for a week at home to gain better insight on how they relate to you personally. There are instruction videos on our website www.small-‐ steps-‐neijia.com under the practice section (in China visible with VPN). During classes at our studio we will introduce other practices and different ways of improving your health. Practice at the IMA1402 studio is different from the practice outdoors. At Ritan Park and during retreats we do more movement exercises. Special classes (practice challenges with daily practice of 10, 14 and/or 21 day) and retreats will be announced by invitation. During this time Liu Shifu will share a variety of ways to practice. If you would like to be on the invitation list, please send a message to bagua@small-‐steps-‐neijia.com, subject Practice challenge and retreat list We remind you that Liu Shifu also gives treatments (tuina, acupuncture, cupping, moxa, qigong massage).
