Carla Boulton is a 23-year education professional with a passion for Career and Technical Education (CTE), CTE educators and especially Career and Student Technical Organizations (CTSOs). In her role with California DECA, in the newly created Chapter Support Center, Carla works with other state staff to provide new advisors with the information they need to ensure their students reap all the benefits that DECA has to offer. Carla has extensive experience in CTSOs at the local, state and national levels. Prior to joining the California DECA team, she worked as a local business teacher-advisor and for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in the Department of Business, Marketing and Information Technology. Most recently, Carla served as the education director for a national CTSO. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Missouri and was honored with the Who’s Who in Missouri Business Education in 2008.

ROBERT HOSIER FLORIDA DECA

Robert Hosier has been with DECA for several years, serving as a DECA high school member, CT DECA district representative, chapter advisor and business partner. Additionally, he has been a DECA certified trainer since 2012. An over 20-year veteran teacher and DECA advisor at Plantation, J.P. Taravella and Cypress Bay High Schools, he is an expert in understanding the role of a DECA advisor. Currently at Cypress Bay High School, he initiated their DECA chapter 15 years ago, developing 231 chartered association finalists and 24 top 10 finalists at ICDC. Robert graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Nova Southwestern University.

LYNORE LEVENHAGEN FLORIDA DECA

Dr. Lynore Levenhagen has served as the executive director for Florida DECA for the past seven years and a marketing educator for the past 30. She is also the DECA advisor for an over 300-member chapter at Lyman High School, where she coordinates three marketing programs - marketing, fashion marketing, and sports and entertainment marketing. Upon completing training in 2010, DECA certified trainer was added to her repertoire. Her passion for CTE is widely recognized, having received the Eagle’s Dare to Achieve Award, the Florida DECA Honorary Life Membership Award and a place in the Florida DECA Hall of Fame. Additionally, she has received the DECA Inc. Outstanding Service Award as well as named Lyman High School Teacher of the Year in 2003. Lynore earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. She also holds a Master’s degree in Career and Technical Education as well as a Doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

ROCHELLE STANFILL FLORIDA DECA

Rochelle Stanfill is a marketing instructor and certified hospitality instructor at Jefferson High School. She has also served as an educator at Marchman Technical Education Center and Hialeah Miami Lakes High School. In addition to teaching, Rochelle is a Florida DECA District 6 advisor as well as the Florida DECA state secretary. Prior to education, Rochelle held experience as a service merchandise manager and a department store buyer. Rochelle graduated from the University of South Florida as well as received an honorary degree from Johnson & Wales University.

SHANNON AARON GEORGIA DECA

Shannon Aaron has completed the DECA Train the Trainer Certification Course every year since 2012. She currently serves as the Georgia DECA chartered association advisor. In addition to overseeing the daily operations of her association, she plans and implements programs and activities that support marketing education in Georgia. Shannon also provides mentoring and coaching to local DECA chapters. Prior to her service as a DECA Chartered Association Advisor, she acted as assistant director of Georgia’s FCCLA and as educational program director at the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center. Shannon’s various roles in these organizations have given her a wealth of experience in fundraising, education grant writing, event planning, competition organization and development of leadership activities. Christina Bailey currently serves as the Georgia DECA executive assistant. Prior to her engagement with Georgia DECA, she worked for the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center as the reservations assistant. Shayna Brown has served as a marketing instructor and DECA chapter advisor for 9 years. She currently teaches courses from the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Pathway and serves as president on the GA DECA Board of Directors. Shayna began her journey in education as a marketing student and DECA member in high school. Today she utilized her passion for DECA to help students build their own remarkable DECA experiences. Shayna has hosted regional competitions, planned and coordinated activities for DECA members and supported students serving on the Georgia DECA Executive Officer team. THOMAS SCHWARZ, JR. GEORGIA DECA

Thomas Schwarz is a marketing teacher and DECA advisor at Camden County High School (CCHS) in Kingsland, GA. He is the past president of the Georgia DECA Board of Directors, a member of the Georgia Department of Education Curriculum Development team for marketing education, and has been a DECA certified trainer since 2012. Having taken a nontraditional path to teaching, Tom brings a rich and diverse background to training. After serving 20 years in the Navy, Tom retired in 1997 and began a career transition from military to marketing education. By all accounts, he achieved this transition with passion and determination, obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Brenau University before retiring from the Navy and following up with a Master’s degree in Education from Georgia Southern University while teaching at CCHS. Tom and his Camden County High School marketing education program have received industry certification from the Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Marketing Executives. Tom has also been nominated his high school’s Teacher of the Year three times as well as Georgia State Marketing Educator of the Year in 2007 and 2008. JANICE BROWN INDIANA DECA

Janice Brown’s involvement with DECA began as a college student and has continued to flourish ever since. Janice has served as a classroom marketing teacher and DECA chapter advisor for over 35 years. During that time, she has served as district coordinator, hosted district conferences, conducted professional development activities and served on numerous committees. Janice has also been a member of the Indiana DECA Board for over 25 years, holding the position of board chair for a portion of her service. Although Janice retired from the classroom four years ago, she continues her commitment to DECA by actively serving as executive director for Indiana DECA’s Board of Directors.

Emily Eaton’s DECA career began in 2002 as a senior in high school, competing at ICDC in the Creative Marketing Project. Little did Emily know that she would later have the privilege of becoming the Indiana DECA chartered association advisor. Emily received a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration and Marketing from Ball State University and began her career in education as a substitute teacher. Emily has judged DECA’s Career Development Conferences from the district to the international level. Emily began her service as chartered association advisor for Indiana DECA in June, 2010 and has loved her job ever since.

AMANDA GRAHAM-BISHOP INDIANA DECA

Amanda Graham-Bishop currently serves as Frankfort High School’s DECA advisor and has been incorporating DECA competencies in principles of marketing, strategic marketing, sports & entertainment marketing, merchandising, and entrepreneurship courses since 2000. Amanda is passionate about traveling to leadership conferences with students, instilling the spirit of community service and modeling professional behavior. Amanda has been serving on the Indiana DECA Board of Directors since 2006. Amanda’s love of marketing started at the University of Arizona where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. JENNIFER DECLERCK MICHIGAN DECA

Jennifer DeClerck began her teaching career in 2007 as a marketing instructor, DECA advisor and schoolbased enterprise advisor. She is currently employed at Henry Ford II High School in Utica Community Schools, where she teaches courses in marketing, entrepreneurship and finance. During her tenure, her DECA chapter has received a number of accolades as well as status as a gold-level certified schoolbased enterprise.Jennifer’s dedication to the profession extends beyond the classroom. She first became a DECA certified trainer in 2012 and has since provided professional development at both the regional and state levels. She has also served on the Michigan Marketing Educators (MME) Board since 2009, holding the position of president and secretary. Jennifer was selected as a lead teacher for the Michigan Department of Education Marketing in Economics Curriculum Integration Grant administered through Berrien RESA. KIM GUEST MICHIGAN DECA

Kim Guest is a local CTE director, business and marketing instructor, and a DECA advisor at Kearsley High School, where she also operates a gold-level certified school-based enterprise. Kim holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Administration, with a concentration in CTE, along with a Master’s degree in Education Technology. Kim has served on the Michigan Marketing Educators (MME) Board for eight years, previously holding the title of president. Kim was also a lead teacher for the Michigan Department of Education Marketing in Economics Curriculum Integration Grant. She has worked on various curriculum alignment projects as well as co-chairs the Michigan Summer Marketing Academy sponsored by MME. MICHIGAN DECA Dave Wait has served as the Michigan DECA chartered association advisor since 1986 and has been a DECA certified trainer since 2012. Prior to 1986, he was a marketing education instructor and DECA chapter advisor at the Saginaw Career Complex. As chartered association advisor, Dave works to find new ways to connect DECA’s programs to the marketing curriculum. Dave recently completed a three-year term on the DECA Inc. Board of Directors, during which he held the position of president. He has also served as a board member of the Michigan Marketing Educators (MME) since 1982 as well as works as the grant administrator for SkillsUSA Michigan and Michigan FCCLA. Tammy Stains is in her third year of service as the Missouri DECA chartered association advisor. In addition to previous service as a classroom instructor, Tammy has owned two retail businesses, providing her with vast, first-hand knowledge of the marketing experience. She has served as the director of communications and public relations with a non-profit and as the strategic planning co-consultant with the Excellence in Missouri Foundation, Missouri Quality Award program. She has also lent her experience to serve on various volunteer committees in her community. It truly seems that “all roads have led to DECA” for Tammy, as her former career opportunities have given her the knowledge and experience to provide the leadership required to continue Missouri DECA’s growth and productivity.

John Stiles currently serves as the executive director and chartered association advisor for the high school division of Montana DECA. John is a familiar face to the DECA program. A member since his freshman year of high school, John has competed on the state and international level as well as held local, statewide and international leadership roles. After his service as a 2009-2010 DECA Inc. executive officer, John graduated from Montana State University with high honors and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Working with the Montana Office of Public Instruction, John utilizes all resources to serve DECA members, advisors and support partners. JANET BUTLER NEBRASKA DECA

Janet Butler is a marketing educator at Millard West High School in Millard, NE and has been a DECA certified trainer since 2011. Janet brings a wealth of experience to her training, having 31 years of marketing education experience with Millard Public Schools. In addition to her responsibilities as a teacher and DECA chapter advisor, Janet has served three separate terms as president of the Nebraska Association of Marketing Educators. Her passion for marketing education has not gone unrecognized: she received the Nebraska Outstanding Marketing Educator Award in 1996 and 2010, the ACTE Nebraska Outstanding Educator Award in 2010, the Outstanding Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year Award in 2010 and the 2014 Association Advisor of the Year Award for Nebraska DECA. NICOLE COFFEY NEBRASKA DECA

Nicole Coffey has been with Nebraska DECA since 2004 and is serving her tenth year as the Nebraska DECA chartered association advisor. She also serves as the president for the Central Region Board of Governors. Nicole participated in the first Train the Trainer Certification Course in 2010 and has had Nebraska representation each year since. She strongly believes that passionate, prepared and supported chapter advisors are at the core of a successful chartered association and is committed to giving her teachers what they need to make their chapters thrive. Working within the Nebraska Department of Education, Nicole utilizes all resources to serve DECA members, advisors and support partners. Jeffrey Victor currently serves as the executive director and chartered association advisor for both DECA’s high school and collegiate divisions in New Jersey. Jeffrey has been involved with DECA since high school and has held officer positions on the high school, collegiate and alumni level. Prior to joining DECA full time, Jeffrey spent 15 years in the hospitality and service industries, where he held management and executive roles on both the operational and headquarters level. He is also an experienced trainer, creating curriculum for both college and corporate environments. Jeffrey holds a Master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University as well as a Bachelor’s degree and Associate’s degree from Johnson and Wales University. Brian Colburn is a business, marketing and finance instructor for Albuquerque Public Schools, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Education. Outside of teaching, Brian has been ensuring patrons, volunteers and staff enjoy successful performances at New Mexico’s premier performing arts theater for the past 18 years, where he serves as a house manager. RAY HENDERSON NEW MEXICO DECA

Ray Henderson is a lead instructor in MBA Research’s High School of Business™ program and a DECA advisor at Rio Rancho High School. He has previously served as DECA advisor at Los Alamos High School and Capital High School, where the chapter grew from 25 students in 2009 to 407 students by 2015. Under his leadership, numerous students have advanced to the DECA International Career Development Conference. He contributes his success to the Project-based Learning (PBL) curriculum from both the High School of Business™ program and DECA’s Comprehensive Learning Program. Ray has utilized his knowledge on PBL by presenting at the 2015 International Career Development Conference’s Advisor Academy. Aside from serving as a chapter advisor, Ray is a member of the Board of Directors for NM DECA as well as the state’s Career Technical Leadership team. He is also the recipient of the 2015 New Mexico DECA Advisor of the Year Award.

PAMELA O’BRIEN

NORTH CAROLINA DECA Pamela O’Brien has served North Carolina DECA for the past seventeen years as the chartered association advisor and has served as a DECA certified trainer since 2014. Pamela is a proud graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Education. She is a certified marketing educator with over twenty-five years of experience. A seasoned classroom teacher, DECA advisor and presenter, Pamela has been trained in total quality management, curriculum development, classroom management and membership development. Pamela served on the DECA Inc. Competitive Event Task Force for four years and was awarded the Outstanding Service Award for her time, expertise and commitment given to DECA. Pamela has worked tirelessly to see North Carolina DECA’s membership increase over 50% during her tenure as the executive director! She founded North Carolina DECA Friends and Alumni as a link to continuing the tradition of excellence for the association’s members, both past and present. In recognition of her dedication to the local community, she was recently recognized and honored as the Tar Heel of the Week. Additionally, she has led her state in building foundation funds designed to award scholarships to deserving NC DECA members. Pamela seeks to engage those around her with her personal philosophy of “love what you do and you will never work a day in your life”!

OLGA PLAGIANAKOS ONTARIO DECA

Olga Plagianakos graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Queen’s University and began working at the Globe & Mail as a marketing analyst. Shortly thereafter, she decided to pursue a career in education. Olga graduated from the University of Toronto in 1990 with a College of Teacher’s certificate and began working at East York Collegiate Institute as a business teacher and DECA advisor. Olga states that this was the best professional decision she has made to date. In her 20 years of involvement with Ontario DECA as tabulation director, provincial coordinator and now executive director, she has seen the association grow from 1,404 members to over 12,100 members. Olga’s primary focus is on DECA student members and chapter advisors. Ontario DECA continues to offer additional programming, while keeping it affordable for the masses. Olga is privileged to be working with a dynamic Board of Directors in Ontario and an incredible advisor and student base. Without such support, nothing Ontario DECA has accomplished and will accomplish would ever be possible. Recently elected to the DECA Inc. GINGER HILL

SOUTH CAROLINA DECA Ginger Hill has served as a DECA certified trainer since 2013. She began working with South Carolina DECA 33 years ago as a student intern. From there she became a chapter advisor, state officer advisor, staff member and now serves as the South Carolina chartered association advisor. Today, Ginger leads a team staff members and chapter advisors as they prepare hundreds of student members to lead their generation towards success. During her seven-year tenure as chartered association advisor, Ginger has grown chapter membership, developed business partnerships, established alumni networks and worked countless hours to organize events to establish South Carolina DECA as one of the leading chartered associations within DECA. As she and her staff continue to build alumni networks and business partnerships, Ginger works to encourage the chartered association and chapter advisors to elevate their academic goals to allow South Carolina DECA to produce strong competitors and scholarship candidates.

STEVEN MITCHELL TENNESSEE DECA

Steven Mitchell began his journey as a marketing education instructor in August 2010. During his tenure as a DECA chapter advisor at Whitehaven High School, Steven managed the largest DECA chapter in Tennessee, holding nearly 300 student, professional and alumni members. At Whitehaven High School, he also served in many other leadership capacities, such as CTE department chairperson and varsity bowling coach. His service has led to recognition as a district, state and internationally-awarded DECA chapter advisor. In August 2015, Steven accepted a new career endeavor with the Tennessee Department of Education in Nashville, where he began serving as the CTE specialist and state advisor for Tennessee DECA and Tennessee FBLA. Steven enjoys managing, inspiring and advocating for all of the DECA and FBLA chapter advisors and members across the state. Steven believes marketing and business education are pivotal in preparing students for professional careers and matriculation into college. Steven earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Tennessee at Martin, a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University and a Master’s degree in Education from Union University.

Joshua Shankle began his DECA career as a sophomore in high school and continued his involvement throughout college. As a student, Joshua served Texas DECA as a state officer and served Collegiate DECA as the national president. After graduation, Joshua continued his involvement with DECA by volunteering as a competition coordinator for the Texas DECA Career Development Conference and Collegiate DECA International Career Development Conference, as well as assisting the tabulation staff at DECA’s International Career Development Conference. In 2014, Joshua began serving as the DECA chapter advisor for Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas. In two years as an advisor, Joshua helped 37 students advance to ICDC. As of July 2016, Joshua now serves in his new role as executive director for Texas DECA.

LISA BAYNES VIRGINIA DECA

Lisa Baynes found her destiny when she joined DECA in high school, where she served as the chapter’s president. Her experiences with the organization led her to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, with a minor in Business. Since graduation, Lisa has been employed with Pittsylvania County Schools. Currently she serves as an instructor and DECA chapter advisor at Tunstall High School, where membership has grown over 100% under her guidance. Outside the classroom, Lisa has previously served on the VAME Board for 11 years, holding the title of president for two of those years. Lisa also recently served 10 years on the Virginia DECA Board of Trustees, functioning as chairperson for two years. She has assisted in VA DECA’s State Leadership Conference for the past 15 years as a series director/event director, assisted in DECA Regional Leadership Conferences as a judge and served as district advisor. Lisa’s high performance as an instructor and chapter advisor is highlighted in the 10 Outstanding DECA Chapter Advisor Awards received. Annie Hulse’s passion for DECA began her junior year at Stephen T. Badin High School when she became a member of Ohio DECA. Annie has served DECA in several capacities, as a district advisor, state officer advisor, Virginia DECA Board of Trustees member and series director at the district, state and international level. Donna Roush is a marketing instructor and DECA advisor at Lee-Davis High School with 31 years of experience as an instructor. JASON UHRY VIRGINIA DECA

Jason Uhry began his teaching career as a marketing teacher and DECA advisor in New Hampshire. Currently, Jason is a marketing teacher and DECA advisor at Sherando High School, where he teaches sports and entertainment marketing, sports and entertainment management, travel and tourism marketing, personal finance and economics. He has been a DECA advisor for 14 years between New Hampshire and Virginia DECA. His current DECA chapter has earned numerous accolades as well as status as a gold-level certified schoolbased enterprise for seven years. Jason’s dedication extends outside the classroom. Jason has served as Virginia DECA District 9 advisor for the past seven years and is currently the Virginia Association of Marketing Educators (VAME) president-elect. Jason has served on the VAME board as a Region 1 director as well as served on curriculum-based review teams for the Commonwealth of Virginia for the sports and entertainment marketing, sports and entertainment management and travel and tourism marketing curriculum. Terri Mackey currently serves as the Wisconsin DECA executive director. DIRECTOR OF LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT, DECA INC Ryan Witzig is the newly appointed director of learning and assessment at DECA Inc. Ryan has served as Virginia DECA chartered association advisor for seven years and has been a DECA certified trainer since 2010. She is a high-energy and passionate trainer who is admired for her fun and innovative approaches to advisor training. Prior to serving as the Virginia DECA chartered association advisor, Ryan spent five years in the classroom as a marketing teacher and DECA advisor, where she more than tripled membership. Ryan received a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Technical Studies, with an emphasis in marketing education, from Old Dominion University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration, with an emphasis in non-profit organization, from the Keller’s Graduate School of Management.
