DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, SONEPAT HOLIDAYS HOMEWORK CLASS IV
Dear Parents, Summer Vacations are round the corner and spells fun, frolic & ice creams for around two months. While fun is intrinsic to their age, constructive activities and fruitful occupation of their time is of vital importance. It paves the way towards a bright future for the child and a progressive learning graph. Some Pointers: Free play time should alternate with structured games-this cultivates sportsmanship. Assign a permanent workplace and a work time this brings in a system and discipline into the child’s life. Inculcate good manners, healthy habits and respect for elders. Never ever compare or hurt their pride as it will stunt their confidence. We are giving a short assignment for the vacation. We have tried to make the work enjoyable keeping in mind their interest. Space out the work & the child will enjoy doing it.
Note – The holidays homework for all the subjects is supposed to be done in one thick notebook covered with bright orange paper and beautifully decorated. It should be strictly child’s work.
School closes from 24.5.12 and reopens on 16.7.12 Enjoy your holidays with your children!

DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL,SONEPAT SUBJECT-ENGLISH CLASS-IV HOLIDAY HOMEWORK Useful Tips Some days it is very difficult to concentrate. You may just not be in the mood to study or maybe it is a certain topic that you have difficulty concentrating on. Whatever the reason, there are some steps you can take to help you concentrate. •
• • •
If you keep having the urge to get a snack, then get it first, before you start studying. That is the only snack you get until you're done. You'd be amazed at how much time you can waste going back and forth to the fridge. Remove any other distractions. Turn off the T.V, go into another room if people are talking. Do not take any phone calls until you are through. Try to do your homework early in the day. If you wait until just before bedtime then your brain will be tired out at the end of the day. Finally, don't procrastinate. Your homework won't get done by itself, so you may as well make up your mind to sit down and do it. Once you're done, you'll be free to get on with other things.
