Director of Business Development, Stakeholder Engagement and Operations Chief Executive Officer $103,887 - $118,569 plus superannuation of 9.5% (Level 6 ACOSS Collective Agreement 2015) Up to full time, flexible work arrangements considered Sydney, NSW
INTRODUCTION Reporting to the CEO, and a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director has two key areas of responsibility: 1. Business Development and Stakeholder Engagement; and 2. Operations.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT The Director is responsible for:
Supporting the organisation to maintain and enhance its reputation, credibility, capacity and effectiveness as a leading peak organization; Initiating and leading opportunities for ACOSS that produce values matched partnerships which enhance the revenue base and capacity of ACOSS; Identifying and pursuing grant opportunities, business relationships and corporate partnerships; and Leading and nurturing relationships and communication with ACOSS’ membership base, partners and supporters, including through conferences and events.
OPERATIONS The Director is responsible for:
Assisting the CEO and Senior Team/management in setting the strategic directions and organisational development of ACOSS, including contributing to the development of operational budgets, setting of operational priorities, and managing key external relationships; Managing the administration, financial management, IT, risk and compliance systems, human resource and office systems, and providing supervision and leadership for the team responsible for these activities; and
Initiating, managing and nurturing relationships and agreements with professional advisors, contractors (including external accounting services), funders and sponsors, managing contracts with and performance of suppliers and professional service organisations.
SELECTION CRITERIA 1. Demonstrated commitment to the values of ACOSS and the ability to contribute to the strategic agenda and organisational development of ACOSS, in line with its priorities. 2. Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead and contribute to staff teams, lead strategic processes, manage complex projects and juggle competing priorities. 3. Demonstrated business acumen, including experience in developing and managing the various components of the two key areas of responsibility above. 4. Outstanding stakeholder management and interpersonal skills with high level communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues and ideas to diverse audiences.
ORGANISATION AND HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is part of the ACOSS Senior Team. The Director will manage the administrative team which includes staff responsible for roles in the areas of operations, finance, human resources, membership and events, bookkeeping and ICT and office administration.
SALARY AND CONDITIONS The ACOSS Collective Agreement 2015 governs salary and conditions of employment. The position is Level 6 of the Agreement with a salary range of $103,887 to $118,569 (commensurate with skill and experience), as well as four weeks annual leave, special leave between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, paid parental leave and family and carer’s leave entitlements. A three month probationary period applies.
