M ISSION S TATEMENT
KEYS TO SAFER SCHOOLS.COM is dedicated to helping schools and youth oriented organizations detect violence, establish prevention strategies and develop effective plans for dealing with violence. KEYS relies heavily on National Violence Research in the development of its' services. KEYS dedicates itself to assisting organizations in enhancing their student and staff safety through training, information and materials.
S ERVICES I NCLUDE: ASSESSING THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS STUDENT (PDS) The training will certify individuals to use a Nationally Researched one-page Assessment Tool which will help them determine the difference between a prankster and a PDS. The training examines; • why we miss these PDS, • how we can identify them, and • what resources are available to get
them the help they need.
B ULLYING S TOPS WHEN R ESPECT B EGINS The Bullying Training offers four modules to fully address the different aspects of this complex issue. These are:

The School: How to institute a bullying program. The Victim: How to handle being bullied. The Bully: Identifying the unmet needs of the bully. The Parent: Signs that your child is being bullied.

SCHOOLS, TERRORISM & HOMELAND SECURITY This comprehensive training shows the realities of terrorism, how it may effect schools and specific actions to take, which will enhance safety. Part 2-an interactive workshop to write a Bio-Chemical Terrorist Attack Contingency Plan using a Nationally used template. Upon completion participants will have a BioChem Plan. Subject Matter Experts guide attendees in Crisis Plan Development and Counter-Terrorism so that Plans will be specific to the district’s special needs.
ANGER MANAGEMENT & D E - E S C A L AT I O N T R A I N I N G This teaches how to recognize anger, manage anger and de-escalate volatile situations in the classroom. It p r o v i d e s physical and non-physical means to stop or break up a fight with minimal risk to all involved.
S CHOOL S AFETY S ITE A SSESSMENT This survey is tailored to the needs of the individual school. It can range from a simple walk through to a complete review of policies and community interactions. The final report will contain strengths, problems and recommended solutions regardless of the level of the survey.
K E Y N O T E S P E A KE R S / T R A I N E R S The Directors (see list on website) and staff are available for keynote speaking and staff development training on topics related to school violence. They have spoken at conferences and conventions and are experts in school violence/safety issues.
