POOL ACTIVITY KEY Aerobics An aqua fitness class for adults 18+ (pool closed to this activity only). Aqua Stand Up will help to strengthen the entire body, increase cardiovascular endurance, stabilize the core and improve balance and flexibility.

To accommodate safety and staffing needs, this schedule is subject to change without notice. The pools will be cleared during activity changes. The pools are closed to scheduled activities only.

• Smoking, eating, and glass containers are not permitted.

• For your safety, limit your spa time to five minutes.

• Do not run, back dive, twist, flip, or horseplay in or around the pool. Front diving is allowed only in the indoor pool deep end (9 feet).

• Keep your head above water at all times in the spa.

• Lifeguards have the authority to stop any activity that is deemed unsafe. Please abide by their request. • Please shower before using the pools.

• Do not hang on lane lines, ladders, or railings. 

• Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children. Lifeguards are on duty to enforce rules and respond in case of emergency.

• Please use restroom facilities when changing. 

• Children who have not passed our swim check must swim within arm’s reach of a parent/guardian at all times. An adult must be in the water with the child.

• Long hair should be tied back or under a swim cap.

• Children ages 1-12 must pass a swim check of 25 yards of any stroke, be able to tread water for one minute, and be able to jump into the pool and recover.

• Appropriate, family-friendly swimwear is required. Members with inappropriate attire may be asked to leave.

• All non-swimmers under age 13 will wear an orange wrist band while swimming in the pools.

Lap Swim Rules

• Children 7 and under who have passed a YMCA swim check must have an adult actively supervising them on the pool deck.

• If it’s your first time at our pool, ask the lifeguard for an introduction to our lap swim protocol.

• Coaching or instruction by a non YMCA staff member is not permitted.

• Parents may supervise only two non-swimmers. Non-swimmers are those who have not passed the swim check. • Children who are not toilet trained or who are under the age of 3 must wear a swim diaper. Plastic pants are recommended. • All personal flotation devices must be U.S. Coast Guard approved. (Water wings, float swim suits, water rings, etc., are not permitted.)

• Swimwear must be made from nylon or polyester. No cotton wear is permitted. • Scuba activity may only be done during a YMCA course.

• Lap swimmers must be at least age 8, and pass the swim check. • Speak with all swimmers in your lane prior to entering. Lanes may be split if there are only two people in the lane.

• Noodles, power packs, and aqua aerobics devices are not available during recreational swimming and are only to be used for YMCA swim lessons.

• Lifeguards may ask you to switch lanes to accommodate flow or speed of the lane. Please accommodate their requests.

• Aqua aerobic float belts are not to be used for lap swim.

• Aqua aerobic float belts are not allowed for lap swim.

• To use the slide, you must be 48” tall, and pass the swim check if you are under 13 years old.

Outdoor Spa Rules

• Lifeguard to participant ratio 1:25.

• Please shower before using the pool. • Please keep the pool clear while the lifeguard is removing lane lines. • Active participation is required; we understand modifications may need to be made for each individual. • Proper swim attire is required. Swim attire must be nylon and or polyester. Cotton is not allowed in the pool. • Please put your equipment away when you leave the class. • You may sign up for one class per day. If you would like to take multiple classes, you will have to exit the pool to see if there is space available in the next class.

• Swim counter-clockwise and as far to the right as possible. • To pass, lightly tap a swimmer’s foot or shoulder and pass at the wall, never at mid-lane. Allow faster swimmers to pass.

• Inappropriate behavior, controlled substances, and harassment are not permitted.

Aqua Aerobics Class Rules

Thank you for participating in Aqua Aerobics and following the guidelines below.

• Lanes are divided by swimming speed. Circle swim is preferred.

• All pool toys must be approved by a YMCA lifeguard before you begin swimming.

• While using the slide, you must sit feet-first on your back. Do not spin while sliding.

• Exposure to hot water may be detrimental to the health of people who are elderly, pregnant or who have heart conditions, diabetes or high or low blood pressure.

(Maximum Capacity: 8 people) • We do not have a lifeguard on duty in the spa area. Please use it responsibly and safely. • For health and safety, youth under 18 are not permitted in the spa area.

YMCA staff has the authority to stop any activity that is deemed unsafe. Please abide by their requests.
