Establishing the internet connection.

Connecting

Option 1

Mobile phone with remote SIM Access Profile (rSAP)

You have two options: You require an internet connection to be able to use the Audi connect services1 . There are two ways in which you can establish this. Your mobile phone manufacturer or the database for mobile end devices at www.audi.com/bluetooth can inform you if your mobile phone supports the remote SIM Access Profile (rSAP).

Option 1: connecting via remote SIM Access Profile (rSAP).

Press the button on your MMI® Navigation plus. Then choose "Telephone" in the MMI display.

Select "Connect mobile phone". Ensure that Bluetooth is activated on your mobile phone and that it is visible to other devices. Then press "Search for new devices".

Select your mobile phone. Alternatively, you can search for MMI Navigation plus via your mobile telephone.

Select "Car phone".

The MMI® navigation plus generates a PIN. Accept this by pressing "Yes". Then enter this PIN into your mobile telephone.

Now enter the PIN of your mobile phone's SIM card into the MMI Navigation plus. Then select "OK" in the top right hand corner. Select "Yes" in the next step if you wish to save your mobile phone's SIM card PIN. This means that the connection will be established automatically in the future. Your mobile telephone is now connected and your contacts will be loaded into the address book.

Press the button. Then select "Audi connect" in the MMI Display.

Confirm this with "Yes" to establish an internet connection. You will know that an internet connection has been successfully established by the appearance of the opposing arrows symbol in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. You can now use Audi connect1 (more on page 7).

Option 2: Connecting via SIM card with telephone and data option.

One SIM card remains in your mobile phone - you should insert the other one into your vehicle's SIM card reader.3 This is located in the glove compartment.

Press the button on your MMI® navigation plus. Then select "Telephone" in the MMI display.

Now input the PIN of your SIM card. Then select "OK" in the top right hand corner. Select "Yes" in the next step if you wish to save your PIN. The connection will now be established automatically in the future. Then press the button. Select "Audi connect" in the MMI display.

To establish an internet connection, confirm this by pressing "Yes". You will know that an internet connection has been successfully established by the appearance of the opposing arrows symbol at the bottom right hand corner of the screen . You can now use Audi connect1. See the key word "Address book" in the Operating Manual "MMI® Navigation System plus" to find out how to download the contacts in your mobile phone into the address book of the MMI®.

Traffic information online.

Press the button on your MMI® Navigation plus. Then select "Navigation" in the MMI display.

Choose "Settings" in the bottom right hand corner (the display may be different from the image above).

Scroll downwards and ensure that "Online traffic data" is set to "on". Then select "Online traffic data licence".

Choose "Activate online traffic data"

Then go back to the settings menu (see figure 3). In the "Map display" section, place a tick by "traffic" to show the Traffic information online in the map.

Messages (dictation of text messages).

Start the voice dialogue system by pressing the button on the multifunction steering wheel. After the tone, say "Dictate text message".5

On the display that appears, confirm the point "Activate text message dictation". Finished!

The licence period is shown in the display.

Prerequisite: your mobile phone or SIM card must have a Bluetooth profile MAP (Message Access Profile). You can obtain information on compatible mobile phones from your mobile phone manufacturer or in the database for mobile end devices at www.audi.com/bluetooth.

WLAN hotspot.

Press the button on your MMI® Navigation plus. Then select "Audi connect" in the MMI display.

Select "Settings" in the bottom right hand corner.

Select "Network connection (WLAN)".

Place a tick by "WLAN active". Then choose "WLAN settings".

Here you'll find data on your WLAN hotspot, among other things, the correspon­ding password. Ensure that "Discoverability" is set to "on". Input the corresponding data into your smartphone or mobile end device. Finished! You can now change the password. You need to confirm the changes by clicking on "Use settings".

Audi music stream.

I nstall the MMI® connect app6 or the Audi music stream app7 onto your smartphone. Connect your smartphone to the MMI® Navigation plus via WLAN. Then start one of the two apps on your smartphone.

Press the button on your MMI Navigation plus. Then select "Media" in the MMI display.

In the following screen, choose "Source" in the top right hand corner. The display may be different from the image above.

Select your smartphone that is connected via WLAN.

Press "Media centre" in the bottom left hand corner (the display may be different from the image above). You can now choose between the media library of your smartphone and the webradio.

Experience more Audi connect – with myAudi. In vehicles that are supplied within the first few weeks after the market launch, the Audi connect services listed here may already be activated; this is due to technical reasons. You will be aware of this because the services in the MMI display are selectable. The configuration of Facebook4/8, Twitter4/8 and News online (personalised)4 takes place via myAudi. If the services are greyed out, they must initially be activated via myAudi (see page 14).

Register at www.audi.com/myAudi. Here you'll find a short introduction as well as the Audi connect film that shows both the configuration and connection options.

Set up your Audi connect vehicle in your myAudi account.

Activate the Audi connect services1 in your myAudi account.

Configure the services Facebook4/8 and Twitter4/8 as well as News online4 for the display of personalised news feeds. The destination entry and Picture book navigation4 services can also be synchronised with the vehicle via myAudi.

Your myAudi PIN is generated automatically when you create your vehicle on myAudi. This PIN enables you to transfer all the settings that you enter into myAudi to your Audi vehicle.

on your Press the button MMI Navigation plus to input your myAudi PIN into your Audi. Then select "Audi connect" and "Login" in the MMI display. Now you can log in with your myAudi PIN and call up your configured services in the vehicle.

 Services supported by Audi connect can only be used with the optional equipment MMI® Navigation plus incl. MMI® touch and Audi connect. You also require a Bluetooth-capable Smartphone with a remote SIM Access Profile (rSAP) or a SIM card with a telephone and data option. The services are only available with an existing mobile phone contract (or one that is separately taken out) and are only available where there is mobile phone coverage. Additional costs may be incurred by the reception of data packages from the Internet, depending on your mobile phone contract and especially when using such services abroad. Due to the high data volume, a mobile phone contract with data flat rate is highly recommended! The availability of the services supported by Audi connect varies from country to country. The services are made available for at least one year after the vehicle has been supplied. You need to perform a one-off registration / initial activation in order to use individual services and, additionally, you may need to carry out an individual configuration on the myAudi platform at www.audi.com/myAudi. The Traffic information online services and messages need to be initially activated in the vehicle. For services that require an initial activation (see www.audi.com/myAudi or in the vehicle), there is a restriction on their usage time of 36 months from the point in time at which the activation took place (where the activation takes place within 6 months of the vehicle being supplied; in all other cases, the usage rights are shortened accordingly). You can obtain further information on Audi connect at www.audi.com/connect and from your Audi partner; information on tariff conditions can be obtained from your mobile phone provider. Information on availability and costs can be acquired from your mobile phone provider. 2  Necessary for non-rSAP-compatible mobile phones such as the iPhone. A multi SIM card is a second SIM card with the same phone number assigned to it. 3 When a SIM card is inserted, it is no longer possible to connect the mobile phone 1

via the hands-free profile. From the middle of 2013 onwards, we will offer you a software update that expands the connection options. It will enable you to use hands-free even when a SIM card is inserted. At the same time, you can use the Audi connect services via a second SIM card with a data option. 4  The city events, fuel stop as well as flight and train information services need to be activated. Picturebook navigation, online news (personalised) as well as access to Facebook and Twitter need to be activated and individually configured. Both processes are carried out after registration on the myAudi platform at audi.com/myAudi. The availability of the services supported by Audi connect varies from country to country.
