ABSTRACT The invention consists of three parts made to work together to ensure safe, fast and effective deployment to the end users, which include but are not limited to surgeons and doctors in emergency and operating rooms, occupational hazards equipment goggles, visors and shields, defensive protective armors and high impact vision wear, high performance athletic equipment, and avionics surfaces. The three parts are the anti-fog coating materials composition, their methods of preparation and processing in large, medium or small scale manufacturing, and a single unit delivery device with the coating materials to apply on any existing surface, lens, scope, tools or dials, as a wet or quickly drying coating.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Firstly, the invention consists of permanent anti-fog coatings, including but not limited to their its materials components, composition, adaptative and several methods of fabrication. The permanent anti-fog is referred to as "FogKnox™" . It includes but not limited to very high quality optical transmission films that are distortion-free, and exhibit a very high degree of transparency. FogKnox™ includes but is not limited to very highly uniform optical anti-fog coatings, which can be delivered in wet (fluid) or solid from. Both wet and solid oth preserve and improve visualization on edges of lenses, dials and surfaces and wide-angel lens. In a separate embodiment, the anti-fog coatings can be made removable for applications where lenses and devices where it is applied need to be resurfaced, called KnoxFog™. The anti-fog coatings can also be made semi-permanent to be scrubbable (removable by scrubbing, detergent washing and sonication) for medical applications, and are then called VitreOx™ Second, the invention includes for all the above mentioned anti-fog coatings their method of application in large scale, medium scale or small scale manufacturing, via several possible coating processes, adaptive compositions, adjustments of physical properties and surface preparation procedures, which are disclosed as the second part of the invention. Thirdly, all the above coatings can also be applied on existing, already manufactured optical devices, tools, dials, goggles, vials, bottles and scopes, via the third element of the invention, a specific delivery device and its cartridge of anti-fog coatings materials. The delivery device includes a coating delivery and quick drying element attachment to the metered delivery automated mechanism to apply the coating in a few seconds, and let it dry within minutes. This 'single unit' application device can be hand-held device in the hand of a surgeon, prep nurse to apply a long lasting (>hrs) anti-fog coating on a scope prior to surgery, or a soldier or a recreational user.

This 'single unit' application device can be hand-held device in the hand of a surgeon, prep nurse to apply a long lasting (>hrs) anti-fog coating on a scope prior to surgery, or a soldier or a recreational user. For medical or surgical lenses and scopes, the whole delivery device unit and its materials can be made sterile, re-sterilizable if needed, or sterile only in the parts coming in contact with the scopes. All the elements can be made in one single unit, disposable or reusable. It can also be made of modular elements that attach to each other. Both single unit or modular embodiments can be made auto-clavable and/or sonicated. The coating delivery device can be made disposable or reusable with a refilling cartridge of the desired anti-fog coating material. The device can be used for delivery of permanent anti-fog coating, as well as semi-permanent, removable, scrubbable or temporary anti-fog coating. The key features of both disclosed elements, the anti-fog coating delivery device (AFCD™) and the anti-fog coating materials (AFCM™) to be delivered, are that the AFC coatings has to be quickly and easily delivered and applied to render a surface anti-fog just before or long before use, Used in combination, the device delivers the coating material in such way that, within seconds or minutes, a uniform, high quality optical coating is formed, that is anti-fog, on existing lenses or on optical lenses protectors surfaces. These can be already mounted on scopes, any instruments or tools or already implanted in bodies or any device. The combination of delivery device and material can be applied to any materials, surfaces or lenses. Lenses and surfaces can contain or be made of boro-silicates, acrylics, silicones or polycarbonates-based materials. The anti-fog materials are applied as a coating by the delivery device and both the materials and their delivery device have adaptive properties for matching the specifications such as the speed of delivery, drying time, applications of surface area, and the nature of the surfaces the coatings are delivered to, including the coating materials visco-elasticity, static and kinematic viscosities, drying times. The anti-fog coatings can be used either as solid, or dry films or as fluid, or wet, films based on the application for which it is intended. The coatings can be applied immediately before use, or days, weeks, months or years after the application. The coatings can be attached temporarily, semi-permanently or permanently based on the intended use and needs of lenses. For example, surgical lenses can require semi-permanent coatings (anti-fog coating materials) that can be removed by methods including but not limited scrubbing, and autoclaving to avoid any cross-contamination between procedures, and quick reapplication a sturdy, mechanically resistant, sterile film.
