E-Learning Content Developer (Instructional Designer) Objective of Position The objective of the position is to contribute to Kimetrica’s capacity to develop and deliver high impact and high quality learning and training materials. The position is focused on development of training materials using Moodle.
Development of training course content primarily relating to project management, Monitoring and Evaluation, and risk management (80 percent) o Manage all training content in Moodle, developing course structures, roles etc o Liaise with ICT department to ensure that the Moodle installation and customisation meets our needs and client needs o Liaise with Marketing and Business Development to ensure that all content is correctly branded o Develop annotated course outlines and course metadata in consultation with the relevant Kimetrica units and clients o Manage workflows for training material content development including follow up on technical inputs from the relevant technical services and management of external content providers and consultants o Contribute to the development of “Rebama” virtual world content including background information, project and programme examples o Research and develop content for core tutorials including worked examples o Develop or supervise the development of online and offline software guidance materials and ensure that guides are updated to reflect changes in the software (tracking software developments through Redmine and in coordination with the Software Project Management Service) o Develop or supervise the development of test questions for learning reviews o Support animation and video production and other multimedia production where necessary o Develop presentations and slides as required o Develop instructor kits and trainee handouts as required o Conduct detailed research into best practice in adult education, instructional material development and didactic methodologies for professional training and develop production standards and guidance
accordingly o Assist in the development and refinement of guidance on training materials and production standards o Coordinate with relevant services and staff to ensure high quality and compliant translation, language editing, graphics of training materials o Verify that content images are appropriate, correctly rendered, do not infringe copyright and add value to the training content o Ensure consistent academic source referencing of all content o Coordinate in-house and external peer review of all new training materials o Develop a detailed knowledge of Kimetrica’s core software, advisory and research offerings with an initial focus on the software Training and capacity building(15 percent) o Provide training to Kimetrica staff o Provide training to clients if required o Develop a roster of external collaborators who can provide training content Support business development for training (5 percent) o Contribute to publicity materials on training as required o Participate in client meetings to define potential training materials o Contribute to project proposals and bid relating to training
