Is Google making us stupid? Does our Youtube and Twitter culture change the way we learn? Could Farmville be educational
EDCI 288B NETWORKED INTELLIGENCE LEARNING, LIVING, AND CONNECTING SMARTER IN THE DIGITAL AGE

NEW I-SERIES COURSE FOR SPRING 2012 Is Google making us stupid? Does our Youtube and Twitter culture change the way we learn? Could Farmville be educational? What can Wikipedia teach us about teaching and learning? How does Facebook affect your college experience? Please join us in this I-series course for undergraduate students where we will explore these questions and more. This class will examine how we collaborate and learn in a world where digital technology and information increasingly surrounds our everyday lives. Throughout the semester, we’ll read the latest research and books from scholars of digital media and learning. We’ll also experiment together with online social networks, collaboration tools, and games. And in the process, we’ll learn more about how we can use new media to connect better, collaborate more effectively, and learn in new ways.
