Effective Monday, May 22, 2017 The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the following Walk Bridge Program activities for Monday, May 22, 2017 through Friday, May 26, 2017. RAILROAD ACTIVITY
Subsurface monitoring work is anticipated to occur in the vicinity of Norden Place Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 7:00 AM-4:00 PM. No additional impacts to local roads, rail services or pedestrian traffic are anticipated. Map
Program team members are anticipated to be near the railroad tracks from South Norwalk Station to Westport Station and up the Danbury Branch to Science Road for photo documentation of the site Monday, May 22, 2017, Tuesday, May 23, 2017 and Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 7:00 AM-4:00 PM. No additional impacts to local roads, rail services or pedestrian traffic are anticipated.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is undertaking the Walk Bridge Program to replace the deteriorating railroad bridge over the Norwalk River in Norwalk, CT. One of the oldest movable bridges in the country, the Walk Bridge is a critical transportation link on the Northeast Corridor between Washington, D.C., New York City and Boston carrying four tracks of Metro-North Railroad, Amtrak and freight service.
