Saturday: Departure by bus from Florence at 8:00AM for Carrara. Meet our guide for a tour of the city. Carrara is the most important center in the Italian industry for the production of marble. Free time for lunch. Proceed to the suggestive landscapes of the marble quarries to discover the favorite marble of Michelangelo. Transfer to the hotel in Monterosso - the northernmost of the Cinque Terre. Hotel check-in, then free time. Sunday: Breakfast at the hotel. Hike from Monterosso to Vernazza (the hike is about 2 hours long and not recommented for those who are afraid of heights). It is also possible to take a train from Monterosso to Vernazza. Free time for lunch in Vernazza. Transfer by train to Manarola, then free time. Hike to Riomaggiore along the famous Via dell’Amore. Departure for La Spezia by train, then for Florence by bus.

Early morning departure by bus to Parma for a visit to a Parmigiano Reggiano factory, where it will be possible to follow all the steps of the production of the cheese, from milk to the finished product. Transfer to Langhirano (PR) for a visit of a Prosciutto di Parma factory. Lunch based on typical products (Parmigiano cheese, prosciutto di Parma, culatello, balsamic vinegar). Transfer to Modena for a visit to the Acetaia Malpigli, to learn about the famous aging process of Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena. Departure by bus for Florence.

Saturday: Morning departure by train from Florence (timeTBA). Arrival and hotel check-in (Hotel Villa Rosa - Cannaregio 389). Ferry ride through the Grand Canal to San Marco, then Guided tour of Saint Mark’s Square and Basilica, the very heart of the city, sitting within the big curve formed by the lower half of the Grand Canal. Then proceed to Rialto, the oldest part of Venice - that has been hosting the Market for nearly one thousand years. Free time for lunch and for the rest of the afternoon. Dinner at the Restaurant “Ai Tre Archi”, near the hotel. Sunday: Breakfast at the hotel. Walking tour through the Jewish Ghetto - a sort of “city within the city”, and the first of its kind in history. Ferry ride to the island of Murano for a visit to a blown glass factory. In order to guarantee your spot, you must pay a deposit fee when you sign up, then complete your payment by the deadline specified for each excursion. Cancellation Policy: In case of cancellation, if the cancellation is communicated to Italy Travels at least 11 days prior to the departure date, the penalty charge will equal 30% of the gross total. For cancellations that are made less than 10 days prior to the departure date, the penalty charge is 100% of the price paid. If for any reason Italy Travels cancels the program, the traveler has the right to a full reimbursement of the amount he/she has paid. Further re-compensation is forbidden. No reimbursement will be made in the case of no-shows.
