Introduction Installation of the Software NaviPac Configuration NaviPac Online + Helmsman’s Display TMS Principles + LAN Training TMS Principles + Telemetry Training

Scope of the Tug Management Course Learning Objectives: The course is structured around a dedicated yet general curriculum with the aim being to furnish the trainees with a broad understanding of how tug management and rig move can be conducted in a NaviPac environment and make them confident in using this software solution in real situations. To enhance trainee competence and confidence, typical tug management/rig move scenarios are used as examples throughout the training. For the most part, the course is conducted as hands-on training, thus taking advantage of the comprehensive simulation functionalities that have been implemented into the NaviPac software solution. Both WiFi-based (LAN) and telemetry-based scenarios are used in the training. By the end of the course, trainees will be able to:       

Install the NaviPac software solution. Understand the basic architecture of NaviPac. Configure the navigation instruments on the rig as well as on the tugs. Configure NaviPac on the rig, including setting up a rig move scenario. Configure NaviPac on the tugs to support the rig move scenario. Use the NaviPac configurations in a simulated environment to perform a rig move on the barge as well as on the tugs. Create rig move reports.

Target Group: The course is aimed towards surveyors who have some experience with offshore survey work and basic knowledge of hydrographic surveying. Entry Level: No prior knowledge of the EIVA software solutions is required. The language of instruction in the course is English. Duration: The duration of the course is 4 days, from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M., including breaks. Completion: An EIVA Training Certificate will be issued to each trainee upon completion of the course.

Download & Knowledgebase The EIVA Download site gives users the possibility to download latest versions and patches of the various software packages. A user can sign up for login access and can subsequently receive an e-mail notification when releases occur on the various folders.

In the Knowledgebase, FAQ from the EIVA user community, are listed and organized relative subjective items like: software package, popularity, age (latest addition) etc. Users are also given the opportunity to submit a question that will then be upgraded and included in the knowledgebase.

Training & Documentation Site The Training & Documentation site contains all documentation and training material associated with the EIVA Softand Hardware. It should therefore be installed whenever installing the EIVA software (is not a requirement for the proper functioning of the associated software. The documentation includes all on-line help, manuals, powerpoints, reports, papers, training documents available for the EIVA software packages as well as for the EIVA hardware. The site is designed to be executed in off-line mode (with no connection to the Internet), however some of the items will only provide optimum functionality if an Internet connection has been established. Observe that the site can also be reached at the EIVA Website http://download.eiva.dk/onlinetraining/index.htm

Training & Documentation Site II The Training & Documentation site is subdivided into subpages that relate to the different modules that constitute EIVA NaviSuite. The NaviPac page provides two additional subpages: •

Modules

Interfaces

In the Modules subpage, all documentation related to the use of the TMS system is found under the entry: ‘Tug Management Module (TMS)’.

Software Installation The Software Installer lists the software packages in the sequence shown to the left. During installation, always remember to use default settings. The recommended sequence for the TMS installation is: 1. NaviPac version (includes WIBU key software protection driver in proper version (32 or 64 bit)) 2. Training Documents (Training Site, version) Note that this is valid for installation that are to be used in Barge as well as for those to be used in Tug mode. Re-booting of the computer must be done prior to using NaviPac.

File structure (EIVAHOME) and Location of Files When installing NaviPac, an environment variable, EIVAHOME is generated. This environment variable is used in connection with the execution of NaviPac. By default the environment variable is: C:\EIVA\NaviPac
