EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY HEAD COACH - WOMEN’S BASKETBALL Contract part-time position – Prince of Wales Campus (Charlottetown) Holland College is seeking a highly skilled and energetic self-starter for the position of Head Coach – Women’s Basketball. Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation and working with current and potential studentathletes in the Athletics and Recreation Department, you will work to build and grow the Women’s Basketball program within Holland College.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the administrative duties of the job Research and recruit potential student-athletes Develop and oversee physical fitness regime for team – both pre-season and in-season Form a well-balanced team, develop a team philosophy, create game plans, motive players Organize team building exercises Run practices Create and strictly enforce team rules regarding conduct and behaviour, conditioning, etc. Conduct media interviews, attend fundraising events and/or hold coaching clinics Liaise with athletics staff in regards to travel arrangements, player/team apparel/needs, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum two years recent coaching experience and be enrolled in the NCCP program with at least a Level 1 certification Current First Aid and CPR Valid Driver’s Licence (Class 4 preferred) Strong interpersonal skills necessary for building relationships with student-athletes Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision Knowledge of Holland College programs and services would be considered an asset
