EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY LEARNING MANAGER/INSTRUCTOR REQUIRED for the HVAC TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM (This is a continuing position commencing August 2018)

The Industrial Technology and Trades Department invites applications for a Learning Manager/Instructor for our HVAC Program at the Summerside Waterfront Campus DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful applicant will be accountable for instructional duties in the HVAC program including:  Provide delivery and training of the trade’s knowledge and skills as it relates to established curriculum  Develop curriculum to meet industry standards  Evaluate and monitor students’ progress and provide feedback to students  Order and maintain resource materials  Keep abreast of new technologies as they relate to the trade  Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations  Consult with representatives of the Program Advisory Committee to ensure program meets industry standards  Perform other instructor related duties

QUALIFICATIONS:       

Red Seal in HVAC related trade is mandatory with a Red Seal in Refrigeration preferred. Additional certification in Oil Burner and/or Gas is considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Graduate of post secondary training in HVAC or related trade is considered an asset A minimum of five years recent/relevant experience in the trade Strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation and leadership skills Strong computer literacy skills Demonstrate ability to work independently yet be part of a team Prior teaching experience and/or Certificate in Adult Education will be considered an asset
