Enabling a Software Defined Enterprise Streamline operations with programmable WAN infrastructure

Networking at the sp eed of Business

The ‘Software-Defined Infrastructure’ revolution Virtualization and software-driven architectures have transformed IT. Starting with servers, then storage and now networks, the days of deploying proprietary devices that require painstaking manual configuration are over. A growing portion of IT infrastructure is now software running on x86 platforms and controlled via application programming interface (API). Towards Software-Defined Networks (SDN) CloudGenix Instant On Network (ION) software nodes are deployed at branches, running on standard x86 platforms. A central CloudGenix controller delivers policies via APIs to the ION nodes, which handle network traffic. The software-based, WAN architecture offers full flexibility, enabling immediate, and Copyright CloudGenix 2014

CloudGenix brings the benefits of softwaredefined infrastructure to the WAN. Deployed at branches, CloudGenix ION software nodes form a secure application-fabric, which is fully programmable via API. CloudGenix eliminates the need for routing and the associated complex routing (re) configurations, and the provisioning of proprietary hardware. Deploying new applications and services over the WAN

cost-effective changes to network topologies and functions. Simplified and Predictable WAN (Re)configuration CloudGenix ION nodes form a secure application fabric, and operate at the application-level. This voids the need for error-prone tinkering with low-level routing protocols. Rolling out a new service, changing application traffic priorities, or modifying security policies are done using a few clicks in the CloudGenix controller, or directly via APIs. Setting up a new branch, or restoring the configuration of an existing branch after a failure is a breeze. Furthermore, connecting branch users to a new cloud-based application or service can be done quickly and securely.

Extending DevOps to the WAN Business agility dictates that deploying new applications or modifying existing ones are done at warp speed. The DevOps method, which fosters cooperation between development and IT and leverages software-defined infrastructure has been a clear success for app development and deployment in the data center. The CloudGenix SD-WAN solution extends the DevOps method to the WAN, enabling quick, and scripted changes to WAN infrastructure. Improving Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) With CloudGenix ION, actual configuration of each WAN node is no longer a mystery. As a fully programmable WAN infrastructure, ION nodes configurations and policies are stored in the CloudGenix controller, and accessible via APIs. Change management, audit trails, and restoring to a “provably correct” state are easily achieved. Copyright CloudGenix 2014
