Session Details Session 1: An introduction to the CATIA interface and basic part design functions, including the sketcher, pads, and pockets. Getting familiar with the specification tree, the compass and the various functions of the mouse. Session 2: Introducing more basic part functions including mirrors, projections, and more complex sketches. Session 3: Creating more complex sketch features, and using the trim element. Using the “Operations” tool bar to create fillets, chamfers, etc. and part transformations. Session 4: Transformations using mirror, symmetry, translate, rotate, scale and offset. Using the “Shaft” function. Session 5: An introduction to drawings and drafting, including projections, sections, details, clippings, break view, using the wizard, and basic annotations. Session 6: Introduction to Generative Shape Design. Creating parts using wireframes, surfaces, operations, replications and volumes as well as extrusions, revolutions, spheres, cylinders, offsets, sweeps, fill, multisections, and blend. Session 7: More advanced generative shape design: Creating parts using join-healing, trim-split, extract, fillets, transformations, extrapolate. Session 8: Introduction to Assemblies. Importing parts into a model and constraining. Session 9: More advanced assembly design importing parts and constraining. Session 10: Advanced part design, introducing multi-sections solids, ribs, slots, and stiffeners. Introduction to Boolean Operations.

Session 11: Advanced Assembly Design – Assembling parts from previous assignments using constraints. Session 12: Advanced Drawing – Creating a drawing of the assembly components from Session 11. Creating a Bill of Materials.
