September 3, 2013 - January 31, 2014 Fast Track Ensemble - Learn rock & pop hits including: Brown Eyed Girl, Wild Thing & You Really Got Me. For: Vocal, Guitar, Piano, Bass & Drums. Teacher: Dave Mattar. Times: Wednesday - Times to be announced. Cost: $420 for 20, 45 minute classes. Play-In-The-Band Ensemble - Learn to play rock, blues & jazz songs by ear in this innovative ensemble. For all instruments. Teacher: Arnold Faber. Times: Monday 6:30 p.m. or 8:00 p.m., Saturday 1:00 p.m. Cost: $494 for 19, 60 minute Monday classes or $494 for 19, 60 minute Saturday classes. Pop/Rock Ensemble - Learn to play classic & contemporary songs by ear. Instrumentation: Vocal, Guitar, Piano, Bass & Drums. Teacher: Nick Scott. Time: Thursday 7:30 p.m. or Saturday 3:30 p.m. Cost: $520 for 20, 60 minute Thursday classes or $494 for 19, 60 minute Saturday classes. Jazz Ensemble - Learn essential jazz skills including: chart reading, soloing & comping. For: Vocal, Piano, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Trumpet, Trombone & Saxophone. Teacher: Arnold Faber. Time: Saturday 10:00 a.m. Cost: $494 for 19, 60 minute classes. Guitar Ensemble - Learn classic & contemporary rock or jazz songs arranged for guitar. Songs include: Crazy Train, Smoke On The Water & Blue Skies. Teacher: Dave Mattar. Time: Wednesday - Time to be announced. Cost: $420 for 20, 45 minute classes. Pop Vocal Ensemble - Students of all ages & ability levels sing pop, rock, Broadway & jazz songs while learning proper vocal technique & group singing skills. Teacher: Angie Hilts. Time: Thursday 6:45 p.m. Cost: $420 for 20, 45 minute classes. Music Theatre Class - Students learn to sing, dance, act, and scene study skills. Teachers: Stacie Carmona & Angie Hilts. Time: Tuesday 7:30 p.m. Cost: $494 for 19, 60 minute classes. An audition may be required. Location: Islington United Church String Ensemble - Students playing for at least one year will learn music from the classical string repertoire. For: Violin, Viola & Cello. Teacher: Linnea Thacker. Time: Thursday 8:30 p.m. Cost: $420 for 20, 45 minute classes. Saxophone Ensemble - Students playing for at least one year will learn classical, jazz & popular saxophone repertoire. Teacher: Jeff LaRochelle. Time: Monday 5:30 p.m. Cost: $399 for 19, 45 minute classes. Hand Drumming Ensemble - Students participate at their own skill level in this fun and educational ensemble. Teacher: Arnold Faber. Time: Saturday 3:15 p.m. Cost: $266 for 19, 30 minute classes. Bucket Drumming Ensemble - Students learn music written for buckets and compose their own bucket music. It’s “Buckets of Fun for Everyone”! Teacher: Ed Lettner. Time: Saturday 5:00 p.m. Cost: $266 for 19, 30 minute classes.

Percussion Ensemble - Drummers of all ability levels learn music written for a variety of percussion instruments. Teacher: Arnold Faber. Time: Saturday 2:30 p.m. Cost: $399 for 19, 45 minute classes. MUSIC IN MOTION CHILDRENʼS CLASSES Ages 6-24 Months - You & your baby will experience the wonderful world of music together in this fun & stimulating class. Time: Saturday 5:30 p.m. 2 Year Olds - The class description for the 2 and 3 year old classes is the same. Time: Friday 4:00 p.m. 3 Year Olds - You & your child will: Sing; Play small percussion instruments & circle games; Learn movement & listening skills; and Interact with other children. Times: Friday 4:45 pm or Saturday 4:45 pm. 4 Year Olds - Children will: Learn one & two part singing; Play small percussion instruments; Express themselves through rhythm & story creation; Play circle games; Learn movement skills; Listen to recordings; Learn listening skills through fun musical exercises and Interact with other children. Time: Friday 5:30 p.m. or Saturday 4:00 p.m. Orff Program: 5-7 Year Olds - Friday 6:15 p.m. or Saturday 5:30 pm. 8-10 Year Olds-Saturday 6:15 pm. Children begin to play pitched percussion instruments such as the xylophone. Classes include: instrument performance, music notation, singing and movement. Location: Oxford Learning - 4195 Dundas St. West Teachers: Friday - Vivian Li. Saturday - Stela Marto. Cost: $420 for 20, 45 Minute Friday Classes or $399 for 19, 45 minute Saturday classes. MUSIC THERAPY The Music Studio’s unique Connecting Through Music program integrates the learning of music and life skills for children and adults with: ADD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, behavioural problems and language disorders. Teacher: Shelby Lynn. Private lessons are offered Tuesday,Wednesday&Friday.Classes:To be announced. ENSEMBLE & CLASS REGISTRATION Fees for ensembles and classes are billed on a per session basis. Payment for the Fall/Winter Session is due by the first day of a class or ensemble. You have two payment options: 1) Payment in full for the entire session. 2) Payment in two equal installments, with the second, post-dated, payment due on November 15. Payment may be made by cash, cheque or credit card. Cheques are payable to The Music Studio. You may join an ensemble or class after the start date. The Music Studio is located in the Islington Village Plaza at the corner of Dundas Street West and Burnhamthorpe Road, just west of Islington Avenue.
